Amish Church Spread Recipe

This Amish Peanut Butter Spread should come with a warning label. It is dangerously delicious!! Peanut butter, marshmallow cream, and brown sugar syrup. This delicious treat is super easy to make and even easier to eat. It tastes similar to a Fluffernutter sandwich. This sweet peanut butter spread is great for a quick breakfast, after-school snack, or even as dessert. I like to eat the spread on a piece of homemade bread or toast. It is equally delicious straight out of the jar or on top of some ice cream!

How to Make Amish Peanut Butter

This spread is super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. In a medium saucepan, bring brown sugar, water, and Karo syrup to a boil over medium heat. Cook just until the brown sugar dissolves. Remove the pot from the heat and cool completely. In the bowl of an electric stand mixer, beat together peanut butter, marshmallow fluff, and vanilla. Slowly add the cooled syrup mixture a little bit at a time to the peanut butter mixture until fully incorporated. Beat for about two minutes or until it is light and fluffy. Store the peanut butter in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator.

  • You can use smooth or crunchy peanut butter.
  • Feel free to add some maple extract and/or cinnamon to the mixture.
  • Can substitute real maple syrup for the light corn syrup in this recipe.
  • I used a stand mixer to make the spread. If you don’t have a stand mixer, you can use a mixing bowl and a handheld mixer or stir by hand.

How to Serve Peanut Butter Marshmallow Spread

You can serve this as a spread on Homemade Bread, Dinner Rolls, or Graham Crackers. It is also great as a dip with some apple slices. I think one of my favorite ways to eat this spread is to warm it up in the microwave and pour it over a big bowl of ice cream. YUM! No matter how you serve it, this Amish peanut butter recipe is sure to be a hit!
