Apple BBQ Grilled Chicken
Easy & Delicious BBQ Grilled Chicken
New favorite alert! This Apple BBQ Grilled Chicken is crazy good! It is also super easy to make. There are only 4 ingredients – including the chicken! You can’t beat that! We brushed the chicken with some extra BBQ sauce before removing it from the grill. YUM! We loved this chicken so much, that we actually made it twice last week! The leftovers are great for a quick lunch.
Tips for Grilling Chicken on Grill
This Apple BBQ Grilled Chicken is marinated in a combination of apple juice, brown sugar, and BBQ sauce. Make sure to use a BBQ sauce that you like. It gives the chicken most of its flavor, so you want to use a good BBQ sauce. I let the chicken marinate overnight in the marinade. I think the longer the better!!! If you don’t have that long to let the chicken marinate, let it hang out in the marinade for at least 2 or 3 hours.
My number one tip for grilling chicken breasts is to pound the chicken to an even thickness. We place the chicken in a ziplock bag and use a meat mallet to pound the chicken so it all the same thickness. There is nothing worse than a half juicy, half dry piece of chicken. Pounding the chicken breasts to an even thickness will ensure that the chicken cooks evenly.
We grill exclusively on a charcoal grill. My number one tip for grilling on charcoal is to use a charcoal starter. There is nothing worse than having your food taste like lighter fluid! Ditch the lighter fluid and use a charcoal starter. Here is a post that tells you how to use a charcoal starter with a video: https://www.plainchicken.com/2014/05/grilling-101-how-to-use-charcoal-starter.html
