This Baked Feta Dip is inspired by our favorite pizza place. This is our go-to appetizer. We hadn’t been to eat pizza in a while, so we decided to make some baked feta at home last weekend. This is a very simple dip; it only has three ingredients. It tasted just as good as the restaurant’s version – creamy and a little spicy. We almost ate the whole thing (we are little piggies). Give this a try at your Super Bowl party this weekend. Your guests will LOVE it!!
How to Make Baked Feta
This dip is effortless to make. Simply combine crumbled feta, pizza sauce, and red pepper flakes. Spread the mixture into a small baking dish and bake until bubbly.
- Can Baked Feta be made in advance? Yes! You can assemble the dip ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- You can use pizza sauce or spaghetti sauce.
- Here is our favorite pizza sauce recipe: https://www.plainchicken.com/brownie-pan-pizza-with-homemade-pizza/
- My favorite store-bought jarred spaghetti sauces are Trader Joe’s Roasted Garlic Marinara, Rao’s, and La Famiglia Del Grosso.
What to Serve with Feta Dip
We serve this dip with slices of french bread. It is also great with pita bread or garlic bread! YUM! This is great as an appetizer with pizza or pasta. Give this a try the next time you need a super simple appetizer. I promise it will be a hit!

This is also great made with goat cheese!!!! Yummy!!!!
I just brought this up to make again – I've made it a few times now! – and wanted to mention that I make it in a slow cooker to make it easier to serve. I just keep it plugged in for the party and it stays nice and warm. Such a simple recipe – I love it!
How long would you put this on for and high or low?
I bet this would be good with crumbled goat cheese also!
Bogga Gunnars – that sounds really good. If you try it, let me know how it turns out. I might give that a try this weekend.
What about hot salsa sauce instead of pizza sauce ?

I wonder how this would be with some mini pepperonis. I love feta and can't wait to try this.
This just came up on my pinterest feed, and the article says "super bowl party THIS weekend." Had a moment of panic before I saw it's from 2011! I thought I had forgotten the Super Bowl! Thanks for the delicious recipe, and the affirmation that my heart is, in fact, still working 😉
I just used pre-crumbled feta.
Hi, this sounds really good! Did you buy a block of feta & crumble or did you use pre-crumbled?
Thanks!
Sounds and looks super for the super bowl!
shelley – I might have to try that version this weekend!
Ummm YES, the idea of adding pesto and garlic to it makes it sound ever more delicious, must try soon!!
That looks delicious. I think I'll try it.
shelley – alfredo might work. I might add some pesto and garlic to it too. That sounds really good!!
That's easy enough and looks really good.
This looks so good! I am all about trying new dips so this will certainly be added to my list.
I love feta(!!!) but I don't really love pizza sauce, actually I'm not a big fan of red sauce in general even though I love tomatoes. Do you think this could be done with a white sauce, maybe alfredo? It sounds good but it might be too rich. Thoughts?
Oh my…..fabulous! I actually haven't seen this before, but I must try it out. I fear I will have to guard it from the hubby. 😉
that looks amazing! I adore feta! Although I can't find good feta here, I like it when it comes in the salty brine, not pre-crumbled.
Oh my gosh, this looks amazing and so easy! I love feta! Thank you for sharing!
