Pin This RecipeThis recipe was inspired by the Roasted Garlic Italian Grilled Chicken we posted in July. We loved the flavors and the simplicity of that recipe. I decided to give a BBQ Sauce and Ranch mixture a try. OMG! Stop what you are doing and add this chicken to your menu this weekend! It is SO good.
I let the chicken hang out in the fridge all day before we grilled it. I usually marinate all my chicken the night before we grill it to get the maximum amount of flavor. This chicken was so delicious. It is great on its own or sliced in a quesadilla or on top of a salad. We will double the recipe next time so we have leftovers. We’ve made this several times. We just can’t seem to get enough of it! Fire up the grill ASAP for this yummy BBQ Ranch Grilled Chicken. You won’t regret it!

can this be made with chicken legs & wings??
yes – any chicken will work fine
It looks good has anyone tried it with spicy ranch?
If you like Spicy Ranch, go for it
Love this recipe so simple I put the chicken in the marinade before work and it is so good and simple great flavor. My family loves it.
I have an indoor electric grill. Would I be able to grill it inside?
Sure! you can cook it any way you prefer.
How long can you marinate this? I stated it last night before I got sick with a stomach virus. So we were thinking about cooking it tomorrow but that would be 48 hours. (Also they’re tenderloins not breasts.)
It will be just fine after 48 hours
Could this be cooked in a crockpot?
Can I cook this in the oven? If so what temperature and how long?

I’ve made this multiple times and making it again tonight. I add in about a half of a ranch dressing mix packet to the bbq sauce & dressing to give a little more ranch ZIP.
Sounds delicious! Glad you enjoyed it!!
So easy and so yummy and it’s only three ingredients! I let my chicken marinate overnight and all day until we were ready for it. The longer chicken marinates, the better the flavor. I love this flavor combination, and the fact that it’s so quick and easy.
That was going to be my question! I LOVE using the packets! Have you tried it with this recipe yet?
Can you use a ranch packet instead?
You can do whatever you like. But it won't be the same recipe if you don't use the dressing.
Looks like rain is forecast for the evening so I may not be able to grill tonight, but I’ve already got it soaking in the marinade. I’m using 5 chicken tenders instead, so do you still advise pan-searing first?
It is up to you. I don’t usually sear chicken tenders before baking in the oven.
Stephanie@Plain Chicken Silly question. Do you sear it with the Ranch & BBQ already in it?
Yes – let the chicken soak in the bbq & ranch mixture and then cook it.
Can you bake in the oven? How long, and what temp, please? Looks yummy!
I suggest pan searing the chicken on both sides for about 3 minutes and then finishing it in the oven at 425 for about 10 minutes.
The crust looks very good
