A few weeks ago I was going through my hundreds of cookbooks in the kitchen and rediscovered my Bisquick cookbook.  I started looking through it and found a lot of really good recipes.  We loved the Impossible Taco Pie we had for dinner recently, so I wanted to try another recipe from the cookbook.  I decided on the chocolate chip cookies.  I wanted to see if we could tell a difference from “regular” chocolate chip cookies.  At first, I wasn’t sure about the cookies, so I ate another cookie and another and another.  I concluded that they were pretty good since I couldn’t stop eating them!  Next time I make these I am going to do half chocolate chips and half peanut butter chips.  I think that would put these over the top!

  1. so easy! I just made these, they're in the oven now. I ran out of Bisquick, only had 1 and 3/4 cup, so I used flour to substitute the remaining 1 cup. they look good, and the batter was tasty. Hoping they taste as good as yours look!

  2. I made these today .. Like some of the others I found them to be a little on the dry side . I would try an extra egg perhaps because there is enough butter in them. I did use heart healthy bisquik . Will definitely make again . 🙂

  3. I used this recipe tonight for a quick go to dessert…. A Huge Hit!!! thank you for everyone's comments…due to your comments I added 1/4 cup butter shortening, I did the 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, I added an additional 1/2 tsp vanilla, I added just enough buttermilk to moisten, then I used mini chocolate chips, chopped pecans and coconut. These will flatten out and take a little longer to cook but they will be crspy and chewy! Thank you for the recipe and the comments!!!

  4. Just baked some. I cut the recipe in half but used an extra pat of butter. They are delicious! Definitely will be my go to recipe from now on.

  5. I just made these cookies this afternoon. I didn't find them much easier than standard cookies but it is sometimes nice to not have to worry about measuring out each of the separate dry ingredients.

The cookies themselves turned out nice and soft, however, I modified them to include oats, so I added some extra water (added 2 cups oats and 4 tablespoons water). I baked them for 10 minutes and they were very pale on top but nice and brown on the bottom but cooked all the way through.

I probably won't make them again because I like my standard cookie recipe, but they were fun to try. 🙂

  6. Just made these and this is a keeper. So good and super easy. Yes there a bit salty but salty/sweet. This recipe made 40 small cookies for me. People at work will be very happy tomorrow. Thank you for the recipe.

  7. These were some of the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever made. I halved the recipe and I made 16 cookies each with 1.5 tablespoons of dough. I baked them for just over 10 minutes and they were absolutely perfect!!

  8. I made this with a smart balance vegan butter stick in lieu of butter and dairy-free semisweet chocolate chunks (my son is allergic to milk) and they were SO yummy, thanks! Everyone keeps asking me to make them again. Easy too.

  9. I just made these for the first time. They taste pretty good but they are a liitle dry. I used the Heart Smart Bisquick, maybe that's the reason? I will give them another try sometime but maybe use more butter or less Bisquick. Maybe an extra egg??

  10. just made these …tried the half choc. chip and half reece's pbutter chips….they were good…but a little on the dry side and fell apart easy…don't get me wrong…they will get eaten….but needs more staying power somehow….and I am not a cook…so any ideas….love it that they are easy to make tho!!

  11. Ok these were awesome (I like that they are salty) but the mix was dry (had to add 1/4 cup extra butter). My main complaint is that they burned on the bottom while I was trying to get them browned on top. Any tips for that? I have a convection oven so actually e pelted them to come out perfect

    1. I always bake cookies on a stone to avoid burning the bottom. Try it and you will never go back to metal Baking sheets!
