Blueberry Dump Cake

This dessert isn’t pretty, but it is super delicious!  This dessert couldn’t be any easier to make. Just dump everything in the pan and throw it in the oven. No mixing, no extra dirty dishes, no spoons, just one pan.  
I love this dessert. It is not too sweet, and it is loaded with blueberries (my favorite fruit).  This may be served warm or cold, so it is great to take to a cookout. We prefer it warm and topped with vanilla ice cream. 

Blueberry Dump Cake
serves 6-8

  • 4 1/2 cups frozen or fresh blueberries
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Preheat oven to 350. Lightly spray a 9×13-inch pan with cooking spray.

Pour blueberries into pan, sprinkle with sugar. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over blueberries and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Pour melted butter evenly over cake mix.

Bake for 25-30 minutes. Serve warm or cold.

  1. I have a recipe for Dump Cake but it uses cherry pie filling and pineapples instead of blueberries. I made your recipe the other night and fell in LOVE!! So very good!!!

  2. Ever since I was little we made "dump cake" – this works perfectly with canned pie filling. Just dump a can of pie filling into a pie pan (or 9×9 dish), dump a half box of cake mix over it (or use the Jiffy sized cake mixes), and pour melted butter over it. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 50 minutes or until golden on the top. My favorite combos are peach filling with white cake, and apple-cranberry filling with yellow cake. Delish!
