Pin This RecipeEasy Pizza Casserole Made with Biscuits
This Bubble Up Pizza is an oldie but a goodie. I haven’t made this in forever. I had forgotten how good it is. This is one of the very first Pampered Chef recipes I ever made. It is quick, easy and GOOD!
How to Make Bubble Up Pizza
This casserole is super simple make. Cut refrigerated biscuits into quarters and place in medium bowl. Toss biscuits with pizza sauce. Add pizza topping and half of the cheese. Toss until well blended. Spray a 9×13 pan with cooking spray. Pour biscuit mixture into pan and top with remaining cheese and bake.
- I use the smaller Pillsbury biscuits. Look for 6-oz (5-count) or 12-oz (10-count) cans. You will need 10 biscuits in total.
- If you use a can of the larger Grands! Biscuits, you will need to cook the casserole longer to get the biscuits to cook. You can also use one less biscuit and keep the cooking time the same.
What to Serve with Pizza
This pizza casserole is full of flavor and easy to customize to your family’s taste. We used sausage and turkey pepperoni because that is what I like. (When you are the cook, you get to make it the way you like it.) I may add some mushrooms to half of the pizza next time for Chicken Legs. Whip up a salad and you are set! This will definitely be going back in the rotation for pizza night!

I am so happy I found this recipe. I'm cooking in Berlin, DE, so the measurements are a little different. It worked out because the portions are smaller, so I was able to scale it down. I used 16oz of biscuits, 12.35oz of spaghetti sauce, and I used 2 cups of mozzarella (we're cheese lovers). I added one raw green & red bell pepper to the mixture and cooked ground beef and thinly sliced onions before adding it to the mix. I baked for 30 minutes and it came out perfect. Great as leftovers as well. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks stephanie:)
Cathy – I just checked and the Grands and Grands JR are the same overall weight. I think you can use the two cans of Grands and be OK.
I accidently grabbed regular grands bisquits not the jr ones how do you think those would work?would I just use one can maybe?
I always use the regular grands biscuits with these. I've never seen the juniors in any of my stores 🙁 I use both cans, and just check the middle for doneness before I pull it out.
I tried this and found that the biscuits were still raw in the center of the pan after 25 min @375. So I bumped the heat up to 425, covered in foil and let cook another 20 min. Perfect.
Lauren – either one will work fine. No need to run to the grocery store! 🙂
Pizza sauce or spaghetti sauce? Does it matter? I don't have pizza sauce on hand.
This is so good, that a young bear tried to come in a window on the back of our house while I was baking this. That is the honest truth. We had the windows open because of the warm weather and I heard this strange noise at the back of the house. He wasn't quite tall enough to reach through the screen, but he left his claw marks. So now you now how good it is, the scent wafting out will attract anyone!!
Holy cow! This is sooooooo good! I could eat the entire pan by myself! We have been in a pizza rut lately and this new version is wonderful!
Mine didn't cook all the way through, either. The middle was doughy – even after trying to rebake. The parts that were cooked through were great!
I made this and the center wouldn't quite cook all the way and the edges were burning. did anyone else have this problem? the taste was delicious, I just don't know how I can get it to cook evenly.
I made this tonight and my family loved it! I went back for seconds, which is nothing new. But when my very picky 9-year-old son went back for seconds, I almost fell out of my chair! Thanks for a great recipe! It was easy, cheap, and quick!
This looks delicious!! Definitely gonna try this!!

It is two cans of biscuits
Is that two 12oz cans of biscuits or 12oz all together?
