Buffalo Chicken Dip Appetizer Bites

These Buffalo Chicken Bites are one of my favorite tailgating foods. Bite-size buffalo chicken dip balls rolled in cornflakes and baked. I really love buffalo chicken dip, so these are right up my alley. I took these to our football party last week and I didn’t have any leftovers! Everyone loved them. They have all the flavors of chicken wings without all the mess. Give these a try for your next party. They are sure to score a touchdown!

How to Make Buffalo Chicken Bites

These bites are very easy to make. In a bowl, combine finely chopped cooked chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and hot sauce. Form the chicken mixture into balls. Dip each ball into flour, egg, and roll in crushed corn flakes. Place the balls on a baking sheet and bake.

  • I used rotisserie chicken for the cooked chicken. Here is our recipe for Slow Cooker Rotisserie Chicken: https://www.plainchicken.com/slow-cooker-rotisserie-chicken/
  • I used Frank’s Hot Sauce. You can also use your favorite brand of buffalo wing sauce.
  • Are Buffalo Chicken Bites spicy? There is a kick from the hot sauce. Adjust the amount of hot sauce to your personal preference.
  • Can Buffalo Chicken Bites be made in advance? Yes! You can assemble the bites and refrigerate until ready to bake.
  • Can Buffalo Chicken Bites be frozen? Yes! Place the dipped and uncooked chicken balls onto the parchment lined baking sheet and freeze for 15 to 20 minutes. Transfer to a freezer bag and store in the freezer until ready.
    • To bake, place the frozen chicken balls back on a baking sheet and bake at 350˚F for 25 to 30 minutes, until crispy and golden brown.
  • We like to serve the bites with some ranch dressing. Here are two of our favorite homemade ranch dressing from the blog:

Easy Appetizer for a Crowd

These chicken bites are one of my favorite party foods. As I said, we serve these with some ranch dressing and celery sticks. This recipe makes about three dozen appetizers. You can easily double or triple the recipe for a crowd. This is a great recipe for football parties, holiday parties, or a quick lunch and dinner. Whip up some french fries and you are set!

  1. Do these have to be kept warm or can they be eaten a room temperature? Same question on the Taco Ranch Bites. I’m considering taking them to an outside event but am not sure how to keep either warm.

  2. I may be slow, but will tell you that everyone that tasted these little tidbits of heaven, not just asked, but demanded the recipe! Fixed for Super Bowl and yes, it takes time and yes, my fingers were a bit sticky, but hey…… were they worth it? I think so! Sometimes you just can't make something that tastes this good real easy, clean, and quick. I'm willing to make a few sacrifices for these! Thank you many times over for sharing.

  3. Made these yesterday for a big party we had last night. They were a HUGE hit!! Thanks so much! I didn't have corn flakes, but I had Cheez-Its. I figured, if you like them on chicken tenders, they would have to be great on these bites! They were awesome! Again, thanks so much for a great site and tons of good recipes! War Eagle from Opp, AL!!

  4. Just made three recipes from your website this weekend – Chicken Bacon Ranch Bake, meatballs and Ranch Mac-n-Cheese. I admit the Mac-n-Cheese was a failure – the cheese didn't really stick to the macaroni. It was more like Macaroni with cheese. =) BUT – the Chicken Bacon Ranch Bake was a HUGE HIT with my family. =) just stumbled on your blog the other day and love it =) I have a list of more recipes to try! Thanks!

  5. This looks yum! End of year school holidays are starting in two days time, this would be great for snacks! Thank you!

  6. Nuuum-Yuuummy! I can't wait to try this one for myself!!! Yep, I'm being selfish…this one is all mine mine mine.

  7. YUM! I adore buffalo chicken dip, so I'm definitely trying these. I love that they're baked and not fried, too.

Pulling for my Dawgs tomorrow…it's definitely going to be a battle! 🙂

  8. That looks awesome Steph! We love buffalo chicken, in fact we took some last Saturday to a tailgate! I have to try this method though. Enjoy the game!
