How to Make Stovetop Buffalo Chicken Pasta

This pasta dish only has a few simple ingredients and is on the dinner table in about 20 minutes. Perfect for busy weeknights! Cook pasta in a large pot over medium-high heat according to the package directions for al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside. Season chicken with lemon pepper on both sides. In a large skillet, add olive oil and cook chicken over medium-high heat until no longer pink, about 7 to 8 minutes. Remove chicken from pan and chop into small pieces. Set aside. In the same skillet add more olive oil, chopped shallots, and minced garlic. Saute for 3 minutes over medium heat. Add Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, buffalo wing sauce, and chopped chicken to the skillet. Simmer over medium-low heat for 10 minutes. Stir in heavy cream. Toss in cooked penne pasta. Top with grated parmesan cheese.

  • You can use any kind of pasta that you prefer.
  • You can use boneless skinless chicken breast, chicken thighs, or chicken tenderloins.
  • To cut down on the cooking time, substitute some rotisserie chicken or leftover chicken.
  • Can substitute ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder for fresh minced garlic.
  • Garnish the pasta with some mozzarella cheese, blue cheese crumbles, cheddar cheese, fresh parsley, green onions. or a drizzle of ranch dressing.
  • I use Frank’s red hot sauce.
  • Is Buffalo Chicken Pasta spicy? This pasta sauce is kind of spicy. If you are sensitive to heat, make sure to reduce the amount of buffalo sauce. I used 3 tablespoons of Frank’s Wing Sauce and it was kicking! You might want to start with one tablespoon and add more gradually as you taste the sauce.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
