Baked Chicken Crescent Rolls

These Buffalo Chicken Roll-Ups are a new favorite at our house. Chicken, ranch, hot sauce, and cheese stuffed into crescent rolls and topped with a creamy sauce. O-M-YUM! I mean, what’s not to like? It is basically buffalo chicken dip baked in crescent rolls. I could eat the whole pan myself. I have zero self-control around these things. These stuffed crescent rolls are super simple to make and ready to eat in about 45 minutes. Perfect weeknight meal!

How to Make Buffalo Chicken Roll-Ups

This casserole is very easy to make. Start with combining cooked chicken, ranch dressing, buffalo hot sauce, and cheddar cheese. Separate crescent rolls into triangles. Scoop the chicken mixture onto the wide end of the triangle and roll up. Place the rolls in a baking dish and bake for a few minutes. Remove the dish from the oven. Whisk together the cream of chicken soup, buffalo hot sauce, and milk. Pour over the rolls and bake.

  • I used a rotisserie chicken for the cooked chicken in the casserole.

  • Here is our recipe for Homemade Ranch Dressing: https://www.plainchicken.com/copycat-outback-ranch-dressing/
  • I used Frank’s Buffalo Wing Sauce for the buffalo hot sauce in this recipe.
  • Are Buffalo Chicken Roll Ups spicy? There is a small kick from the buffalo sauce. We did not think these were spicy at all. If you are worried about the heat, reduce the amount of buffalo sauce in the recipe to your personal preference.
  • Can Chicken Roll Ups be made in advance? Yes. You can assemble the rolls ahead of time and refrigerate overnight. I prefer to prepare the chicken mixture the night before and assemble the rolls while the oven preheats. I think the rolls rise more in the oven when baked immediately after removing them from the can.
  • Can Chicken Roll Up be frozen? Yes! Bake the casserole and let it cool completely. Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and foil and place in the freezer. The casserole will keep up to 3 months in the freezer.
    • To reheat the casserole after freezing, thaw, cover with foil and reheat in the oven at 350ºF until warm.

What to Serve with Chicken Crescent Rolls

As I said, this dish is a favorite at our house. I actually have this on the menu this weekend for watching all the football games. I can not wait! If you are having a big crowd, you will definitely want to double the recipe. Alternately, if there are only a few of you, the leftovers reheat wonderfully.

We usually serve these chicken crescents with some rice and green beans. Here are a few of our favorite recipes from the blog that go great with this chicken casserole:
