How to Make Cheesy Pesto Puffs
This recipe was inspired by an appetizer I ate a zillion years ago. I’ve been in love with the flavor combination since my first bite. My version of the appetizer is super simple and tastes great! I actually made these two days in a row! There are only 4 ingredients and they are ready to eat in about 15 minutes.
Cut some thawed puff pastry into squares. Spread some pesto on top of each square. Place half of a cheese stick on the diagonal and fold two opposite corners of each square over the cheese stick and press edges to seal. Place on a baking sheet. Brush each pastry with egg wash and bake.
These Cheesy Pesto Puffs are great as an appetizer or as a side dish for your main meal. They would also be great with some pasta! You can assemble these ahead of time and freeze unbaked for later. Just let them thaw a bit before baking. We served them with some grilled chicken and steaks. Here are a few of our favorite recipes from the blog that go great with this cheese bread:

Can you use shredded cheese instead of sticks???
Can you make these ahead and freeze?
Are we talking basil or tomato pesto? Thanks
I used basil pesto. Enjoy!
Sorry I'm a little confused… how does this make 18 puffs? Do you use two puff pastries? Sorry I've never used puff pastry before but you say "cut in 9 squares". Thanks sounds delicious
There are two sheets of puff pastry in each package. Cut each sheet into 9 squares. Enjoy!
