I’ve had this wrap on my list to make for a while. I finally got around to it last week and it was fantastic!
I marinated the chicken in a honey mustard marinade and cooked it right before I assembled the wraps. You could always use pre-cooked chicken strips, but I wanted the chicken to have a lot of great flavor. We ate this for dinner and had enough chicken leftover for lunch the next day. I loved all the flavors in this wrap, especially the honey mustard. This was another successful sandwich night!
Chicken Cordon Bleu Wrap
(Printable Recipe)
- 2 large bonless chicken breasts
- ¼ cup dijon mustard
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 ½ Tbsp lemon juice
- ¼ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp salt
- dash cayenne pepper
- Swiss cheese
- deli ham, thinly sliced
- mushrooms (optional)
- honey mustard dressing
- tortilla
For the chicken:
Combine mustard, honey, lemon juice, paprika, salt and pepper. Pour over chicken and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours (I usually marinate overnight).
When the chicken is finished marinating, preheat oven to 400 degrees. Remove chicken from the refrigerator and pour off excess marinade. Heat 1 Tbsp of canola oil in iron skillet over medium high heat. When the oil is hot add chicken. Cook about 3 minutes per side. Remove chicken to a large baking sheet. Place chicken into preheated oven and cook for about 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Allow chicken to rest 5 minutes before slicing for wrap.
For the wrap:
Lay the tortilla on a flat surface. Layer ingredients on tortilla starting with 1 slice cheese, 1-2 ham slices, chopped chicken and ending with mushrooms. Drizzle a small amount of honey mustard over the chicken. Roll up the sides of the tortilla and place in grill pan. Top tortilla with grill press and grill until golden brown. Turn over and brown the other side. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
I had a similar wrap at a sandwhich shop and now I've got a delish looking recipe that I cannot wait to try.
Sounds & looks yummy!!
