How to Make Chicken & Waffles Casserole

This casserole is very easy to make. Start with toasting some frozen waffles and cutting them into cubes. Partially thaw some frozen popcorn chicken and chop it into bite-sized pieces. Layer the waffles and chicken in a baking dish. Whisk together eggs, milk, and maple syrup. Pour the egg mixture over the chicken and waffles and bake.

  • I use Eggo Homestyle Waffles.
  • I use Tyson popcorn chicken. Just Bare Chicken nuggets from Costco are also great.
  • Can Chicken & Waffles Casserole be made in advance? Yes! You can assemble the casserole and refrigerate it for a few hours to overnight.
  • Can Chicken & Waffles Casserole be frozen? Yes! Assemble the casserole. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and aluminum foil and freeze. When ready to bake, thaw and bake as directed.
    • To freeze the baked casserole, bake as directed and cool completely. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and aluminum foil and freeze. When ready to bake, thaw and reheat covered in the oven or in the microwave until warm.
  • I like to brush the baked casserole with extra maple syrup. This is totally optional but totally delicious!
