I’ve seen this recipe floating around Pinterest forever. It claims to be a copycat to Chick-fil-a nuggets. I finally decided to test it out. While this does not taste just like Chick-fil-a, it is a really good chicken nugget. I read that Chick-fil-a marinates their chicken in pickle juice before battering it. I may give that a try next time, even though I despise pickle juice!
I let the chicken soak in the egg and milk mixture all day and battered them when I got home from work. I fried the nuggets in batches and dinner was ready in no time. We dipped the nuggets in honey mustard and BBQ sauce. We both really enjoyed this and would make them again.
Cut chicken into bite size pieces. In a medium bowl whisk the egg and milk. Place chicken in milk mixture,and cover. Allow to soak in the milk mixture for 2-4 hours.
In a gallon size ziplock bag combine flour, powdered sugar, salt and pepper. Seal and shake to combine. Remove chicken from milk mixture and place in ziplock bag. Shake to coat.
Place 2 inches of oil in a large pot or Dutch oven Heat until the oil reaches 375 degrees. Fry chicken in batches, about 1-2 minutes per side. Remove chicken and drain. Repeat until all chicken in cooked. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
