Cowboy Beans Recipe
No BBQ is complete without some baked beans. These baked beans are one of the best we’ve ever made. I made these beans to go with our BBQ Ranch Pulled Pork. They were dynamite! They were sweet, smoky and tangy all at once. This is a great dish for a crowd. You can make them ahead of time and reheat them or even make them in the crockpot. I used bacon in the beans, but, feel free to throw in some of the BBQ Ranch Pulled Pork. It would be a great way to use up any leftover pork. You could make a meal out of these beans loaded with pork.
2 (15.8-oz) cans Great Northern White Beans, drained and rinsed
½ lb bacon, cooked and chopped
1 Tbsp dried minced onion flakes
1 cup BBQ sauce
½ cup ketchup
¼ cup honey
¼ cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp dry mustard
1 Tbsp chili powder
2 Tbsp dijon mustard
2 tsp red wine vinegar
- Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan or Dutch oven. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.
I made these for our Fourth of July party (actually a double batch) & had NONE left! They were a big hit. Photos on my page. Thank you Stephanie.
This recipe is perfection. I follow it and then put the beans in the crock pot on low all day…perfect baked bean goodness 🙂
Made these today and they were out of this world good!!!
Traci – your menu sounds delicious!! Happy 4th!
These look amazing! And perfect for today, the 4th of July… especially since I have some of your "Crack Burgers" in my freezer waiting to be grilled for lunch :). I'll have to tell my family that today's lunch is courtesy of Plain Chicken! *laugh*
