Pin This RecipeStop what you are doing and add this Crack Breakfast Casserole to your menu ASAP! OMG! SO good!! Crescent rolls topped with cheddar, bacon, ranch and eggs. Seriously delicious! We made this two weeks in a row and it is on the menu for this weekend again. I just can’t get enough of it!
In case you are new here, Crack refers to the combination of cheddar, bacon and ranch. It all started with a bowl of dip at a Titans Football game back in 2007. We were snacking on the dip and just couldn’t stop eating it. We said the dip was like crack! And that is how the dip was named Crack Dip. I’ve taken those flavors and made TONS of recipes with it. You can see them all here – https://www.plainchicken.com/search/label/crack
You can make this Crack Breakfast Casserole and refrigerate it overnight. LOVE being able to pop this in the oven when I wake up in the morning. This casserole is not only great for breakfast, but it is also delicious for brunch, lunch, and dinner. All you need is a fruit salad and you are set!

Just made this today! So so good!
I make this the every year the day before Christmas and cook it up Christmas morning and everyone always loves it! Best tastiest and easy recipe I’ve ever found !
I’m having surgery and want to make freezer meals ahead. Can this be prepared, cooked and frozen? Can it be cut into single servings? If so, what do you recommend for thawing.
Yes – you can do that. I would just pop a frozen slice in the fridge the night before you want to eat it. OR just pop it in the microwave frozen and thaw it in there
Sooo good. I’ve made it twice in the last week and going to make it tonight for a big meeting at work tomorrow. I followed the recipe EXACTLY and wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you for such an easy and flavorful breakfast.
Can you use ranch dressing instead of the ranch seasoning mix? Thanks can’t wait to make it
I’ve never made it that way. It might make it too runny. No clue.
can use ranch dressing dip instead ?
Can this be prepped ahead of time, frozen and then thawed and baked?
yes
Can you use sausage or ham for this recipe?
sure
Can this be made ahead and freezed before serving?
Any hints on reheating and/or freezing portions? Thank you.
We made it this morning, but we put a can of Rotel Tomatoes and peppers in it and did not add the 1/2 cup of milk sure was good
I would like to make this on our house boat trip coming up. 7-8 people will be there. Is this enough for all of us?
It depends on whether they're light eaters or not. My family of 3, all big eaters, devoured it. I'd make two if I was serving that many guests, but I guarantee they'll like it.
Delicious! I like how fast it went together and cooked while I did something else. Set it and forget it. I used the crescent rolls that come in sheets now so no piercing is necessary. I used Costco's already cooked bacon, didn't even chop it, and it was great. (I used one layer from the package as that's what fit in the casserole dish; I don't know how many slices your recipe called for.) Everything else was as written, and it will go into the rotation. Thanks!
Can this be made ahead and refrigerated til morning?
I haven't tried that, but I'm sure it would be fine. Enjoy!
What does the ranch dressing do for it? just curious?
Flavor? Not sure what you mean.
Looks yummy! And easy too😋
Yeah bud this a strange comment for sure. It’s like asking what pepper or salt does for a recipe. Just as well to think first and than ask an appropriate question, lol hope you well
Easy and delicious is a hard combo to beat – I'm always looking for breakfast casserole ideas.
