Here we are! FINALLY! The first big weekend of the college football season. We are kicking off the season with this Cracked Out Hissy Fit Dip. OMG! This dip is insanely delicious! In case you are new here, my “crack” recipes are loaded with cheddar, bacon, and ranch. The flavor combination is totally addicting. I love “cracking out” all of my recipes, and this Cracked Out Hissy Fit Dip is no exception!
How to Make Hissy Fit Dip with Bacon
The original Hissy Fit Dip got its name because you would most definitely throw a hissy fit if you missed out on the dip! The same goes for this Cracked Out version. You don’t want to miss out on this one!! You might want to double the recipe depending on your crowd size. Crack Dip recipes NEVER last long!!!
This dip is super easy to make. Start with cooking some bacon. Next, mix together sour cream, ranch dressing mix, cheddar cheese, Velveeta cheese, Worcestershire sauce, and the cooked bacon. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake.
- Can substitute 1½ cups precooked chopped bacon for raw bacon.
- Do NOT make the ranch dressing. You are going to use the dry mix only.
- If you are sensitive to the Ranch dressing mix, feel free to adjust the amount to your personal preference.
- I prefer to use shredded Velveeta in this recipe. I find it at Walmart.
- You can make the dip ahead of time and refrigerate it until you are ready to serve.
- If you are serving this in the parking lot before the game, you can bake it and reheat it on top of the grill.
What to Serve with Hissy Fit Dip
We served the dip with tortilla scoops and Fritos. It would also be good with some celery sticks or green pepper slices for a gluten-free option. Either way, this dip is a TOUCHDOWN! Since you can’t have only one dip at your tailgate party, here are a few of our favorite recipes from the blog that go great with this yummy dip:

The recipe calls for 1.5 lb bacon, shouldn’t that be 1.5 cups bacon? Thanks. Can’t wait to make this.
No
I have a silly question. Can a 9×9 baking pan normally used for brownies be substituted for the ceramic dish? I assume not but thought I’d check! Thanks!
Sure!
What could I use in place of Velveeta? Cream Cheese?
Can you use real bacon pieces, like at Sam’s Club? If so, how much?
Absolutely! That is a great shortcut. I would say to use a cup to a cup and a half – just your preference.
Can this be done in a crock pot
Sure! Enjoy ????
Ok, I've been using your recipes for a few years now, and this one might be the best thing ever. I have made it twice to take over to a friends' house for Game Night and literally everyone loved it. They always laugh at the name too. Tonight will be my first time taking a different recipe (artichoke dip) and we'll see if a Hissy Fit is involved. 😉
