This Cracked Out Hot Broccoli Dip was a huge hit at our last football party. This is hands down the best broccoli cheese dip recipe that I’ve ever eaten. I don’t even like broccoli and I ate a ton of this dip! I am sure it was because in addition to the broccoli there is tons of cheddar, bacon, and ranch in the dip. Doesn’t everything tastes better with cheddar cheese, bacon, and ranch dressing?!? This hot dip is a must for any upcoming parties and celebrations. I don’t know anyone that doesn’t love this yummy dip!
What does CRACK mean?
If a recipe has “crack” in the title it means that the recipe has cheddar, bacon, and ranch in the ingredients. It all started with my Crack Dip way back in 2007. I made the dip for a Titans football game. Everyone went crazy over it. We couldn’t stop eating it and said it was like crack. The name stuck.
According to the dictionary, the definition of crack is “of superior excellence or ability”. We think the flavor combination of cheddar, bacon, and ranch fits this definition! This recipe is most definitely of superior excellence!
How to Make Cracked Out Hot Broccoli Dip
This hot broccoli dip recipe is super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. Chop broccoli florets into smaller pieces. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, ranch dressing mix, cooked chopped bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and sour cream. Add chopped broccoli to the bowl and stir to combine. Season with salt and black pepper. Spoon mixture into a lightly greased baking dish or 9-inch pie plate. Sprinkle the top of the dip with crushed Ritz crackers. Bake the dip in the oven until hot and bubbly.
- You can mix the cream cheese mixture by hand or with a hand-held electric mixer.
- .Can add chopped red pepper, green bell pepper, or chopped red onion to the dip mixture.
- I use fresh broccoli florets. I used only the florets and chopped it pretty fine. You don’t want there to be big chunks of broccoli since this is a dip.
- You can chop the broccoli with a knife or pulse it a couple of times in a food processor.

This dish was delicious!! Its good all by itself, you don't even need chips/crackers to dip with!!
Looks yummy!!!!!
Did you add bread crumbs over the top of the dip? If so, when was it added?
I added crushed Ritz crackers before I baked it – I forgot to add that to the ingredients. Thanks! I updated it.
