Spicy BBQ Meatballs

These Fireball Whiskey Glazed Meatballs were the star of our tailgate party last weekend. OMG! These things are ridiculously good! They are also ridiculously easy to make. Only a few simple ingredients and are ready to eat in under 30 minutes. These meatballs are perfect for watching all the games this weekend or even a quick lunch/dinner. Throw some frozen french fries in the air fryer and you are set!

How to Make Fireball Whiskey Glazed Meatballs

These meatballs are super easy to make. In a Dutch oven, combine ketchup, red pepper jelly, sugar, apple cider vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey. Add a bag of frozen meatballs and simmer on the stove for 20 to 25 minutes.

  • These meatballs aren’t really spicy. There is just a hint of heat. If you want spicer meatballs, just increase the amount of cayenne pepper.
  • I used premade frozen meatballs in this recipe. There is no need to thaw them before cooking. You can also make your own meatballs if you prefer.
  • I buy the smaller 1/2-ounce meatballs. Feel free to use larger meatballs if you prefer.
  • You can whisk up the bbq sauce ahead of time and refrigerate until you are ready to make the meatballs.
  • Can I make Fireball Glazed Meatballs in the Crockpot? Yes! Just dump all the ingredients in the crockpot and let them cook on LOW for a couple of hours. Keep the meatballs in the slow cooker during the party and they will stay nice and warm.
  • If serving as a main dish, serve over rice or mashed potatoes.

BBQ Glazed Meatballs for a Crowd

This recipe is easy to double or triple for a crowd. I usually at least double the recipe for our get-togethers. These things go fast! We like to dip the meatballs in Ranch dressing. Try them dipped in my Jalapeño Ranch Dip if you want to kick it up a notch!

I love how easy this recipe is to make. I always have the ingredients on hand so I can whip these yummy meatballs anytime we get the craving! As I said, these are great as an appetizer or a main dish over rice or noodles. Serve them with some Teriyaki Asparagus or Honey Garlic Green Beans – YUM!

Here are a few of our favorite recipes from the blog that go great with these bbq meatballs:
