How to Make Cream Cheese Stuffed Celery

This Italian Cream Cheese Stuffed Celery is super easy to make. It only has 5 ingredients, including the celery! Start with a block of softened cream cheese. Mix in some Italian dressing mix, mayonnaise, and mozzarella cheese. Stuff that mixture into some celery stalks and you are done! I just use a spoon or knife to spread the cream cheese mixture into the stalks. I garnished the celery with some paprika and dried parsley. You could even top the stuffed celery with some chopped pecans! YUM!

Can Italian Cream Cheese Stuffed Celery be Made in Advance?

You can make the Italian cream cheese mixture in advance and keep it refrigerated until you are ready to stuff the celery. It will keep 4 or 5 days in the refrigerator. You can also stuff the celery and refrigerate it overnight. I LOVE easy make-ahead appetizers like this!

    1. WONDERFUL FAVOR. Big hit at the party. Easy to make. Will be adding this recipe to family favorites.

  1. I’ve made this without mozzarella but added 1-2 teaspoon of dried dill & served on bread with cucumber slices. My cucumber tea sandwich. 👍🏼 Gonna add the mozzarella next time, but it will be wonderful. Thanks

  2. This was really easy to prepare. I just wanted to try it out because I had a lot of celery left over from Thanksgiving, and didn’t know what to do with it. Now I have a nice little snack to take to my daughters next week when I’m babysitting. If my family likes it, I’ll be making it for Christmas. May try this as a cucumber dip as well. Looking forward to trying out some of your other recipes. Thanks for sharing.

  3. I’ve made this celery appetizer for years and I only use 3 ingredients. Celery, cream cheese and pistachio nuts. You don’t really need the mayo or Italian dressing mix. It’s flavorful and an excellent appetizer just as it is.

  4. Great recipe! Added some crispy bacon crumbles and top with some finely chopped toasted pecans!!! I let it sit all day in fridge before using! Highly recommend making it ahead and giving the flavors time to meld!

  5. Made it as stated but thought it was too salty. The mozzarella cheese made a perfect texture but was so mild it didn’t add much to the flavor profile. Made so much I ran out of celery. Dipped carrot sticks into it and spread it on a variety of specialty crackers. Excellent on all.
The only real criticism I have is the use of the phrase CAN BE MADE AHEAD should be changed to SHOULD BE MADE AHEAD. It is good immediately but much better the next day. It takes a while for the herbs and seasonings to rehydrate and infuse into and meld with their surroundings.
The 2nd time I made it, I used a copycat recipe for Good Seasons Italian Dressing mix and omitted the salt. I replaced some of the shredded cheese with 1 tablespoon of grated parmesan cheese. I didn’t have any mozzarella cheese so I used shredded sharp cheddar cheese.
The result was different but just as good. I think next time I’ll try putting walnut pieces on the stuffed celery. That should taste good.
Actually, I think this recipe would be good in several different variations. Crumbled blue cheese, even shredded American style cheese or shredded Velveeta would be yum.
Thank you for a good framework recipe, a base that can be tweaked to fit ingredients on hand and personal tastes.

    1. Made this as written and everyone ask for the recipe. We loved it. Served it with veggies and assorted crackers.

  6. Have you tried heating the filling in a dish and then dipping the celery stalks, a la spinach/artichoke-style dip? I would be interested to try it that way, but wanted to see if anyone has already.

    1. I’ve had the filling cold as a dip but not warm. It sounds REALLY good warm! You should try it!!! Let us know how it turns out. I’m guessing YUMMY!

    1. would love to know if you tried this…I just cannot eat mayo, plus I will travel w it refrigerated for Tailgate, but do not want to chance w mayo.

  7. I love this recipe. My family and I use it as a vegetable dip. We also spread it on crackers and toast. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Would someone please tell me if the measurement for the Italian Dressing Seasoning is correct in the recipe? I bought Good Season and it comes in 0.7 oz. which would be quite a bit more than .07 oz in the recipe.

        1. I’ve never frozen this so I can not say. The texture of the cream cheese will change after freezing, so keep that in mind.

    1. What do you think about putting the itialan seasoning on the cream cheese and putting it on the smoker. Then mixing it up and stuffing the celery?
