It was great! You can definitely make this ahead of time and refrigerate it overnight or pop it in the freezer unbaked for a quick meal later.
This casserole is great for potlucks and tailgates! Anywhere you have a hungry crowd of people. This is a very basic version of Johnny Marzetti. You can jazz it up with mushrooms, peppers, and celery. Get creative and add veggies that your family enjoys. This is a great base recipe to start with. Johnny Marzetti Casserole

1 lb ground beef
1-1/2 Tbsp dried minced onion flakes
1 (10.75-oz) can condensed tomato soup
1 (8-oz) can tomato sauce
1 (6-oz) can tomato paste
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 (8-oz) package medium egg noodles
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Lightly spray a 9×13-inch pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
Brown ground beef in a large skillet. Drain fat. Stir in tomato soup, tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, onion flakes, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Toss cooked noodles with meat sauce. Pour into prepared pan.
Top pasta with shredded cheese.
Bake, uncovered, for 20 to 30 minutes, until bubbly.
