This Killer Bean Dip is just that – KILLER! SO good! We actually ate this for lunch the day I tested the recipe. Hamburger, taco seasoning, salsa, Velveeta, and refried beans. All of my favorites in one dip! It is way better than any dip from our favorite Mexican restaurant. Chicken Legs isn’t’ a fan of refried beans, but he loved this dip!

Tips for Making Killer Bean Dip

This dip is super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. Start with browning some ground beef in a skillet. Next add taco seasoning, salsa, Velveeta, and refried beans. Heat the mixture on low until the cheese has melted and the dip is warm.

  • I made this on the stove, but you could also make it in the microwave or slow cooker. Either way, it will taste amazing!
  • You can substitute ground turkey for ground beef.
  • Can use store-bought salsa or homemade. For store-bought salsa, I like Mateo’s Salsa or Kylito’s Salsa. For homemade, I like our Superior Grill Salsa Recipe: https://www.plainchicken.com/superior-grill-salsa/
  • This recipe is easy to double or triple for a crowd.

Mexican Bean Dip for a Crowd

We ate this with some Fritos, but it would be great with tortilla chips or even some veggies for a gluten-free option. Serve this dip at your next tailgate/football party. I promise it will be a touchdown!! Even though you could make a meal out of this yummy dip, you probably need a few more things to round out your party spread. 1. After this is made the initial time, Can you eat it cold out of the fridge, like with normal bean dip, or should it be reheated?

      1. Just made this and it is so easy but oh so good. I added some hatch chili 🌶️ to it for some extra kick. Yummy 😋

  2. Is this really spicy ?Cause I have some that like spicy and then there's some like me who love spicy but can't have it cause of acid reflux….If it is spicy is there a way of making it without all the spice ?

  3. I made this for the second time, today. The hubster loves it. nd, I remembered why I wanted the Pioneer Woman's 0" frying pan!!!

    1. cheddar cheese does not melt well at higher heat, it does well in the oven slow cooking, Cheddar cheese clumps and leaves bigger pieces not a creamier mixture.

  4. I made this all the time 25 yrs ago and lost the recipe moving. So glad to have it back. The only difference was I used grated cheese instead of velveta

  5. This sounds great, but I'm wondering if I could do it as a baked dip? I'm taking it to our Auburn tailgate tomorrow and I'm not sure if there will be a crock pot hookup. I made your cracked out spinach dip last weekend and it was a hit!!! What do you think about trying to make it a baked dip? Thanks!
