Mack & Jeezy – seriously delicious mac and cheese recipe!! No sauces to make. Just boil the pasta, stir in the cheese and bake. Elbow macaroni, cottage cheese, egg, sharp cheddar cheese, salt and paprika. Served this at a dinner party and it was the first thing to go! SO good!!! #macandchese #pasta #sidedish #casserole

Pin This RecipeThis Mack & Jeezy is our new favorite mac and cheese recipe. It is SO good!!! Loaded and loaded with cheese. PLUS you don’t have to make any sauces. Just cook the pasta, mix together and pop in the oven. I LOVE how easy this is to make!!!
We were introduced to this Mack & Jeezy at a dinner party. Chicken Legs and I both couldn’t stop raving about it. We had to get the recipe. They told us that it was Terry Crews’ recipe! I googled it at the table and added it to our menu for the next week.
We are addicted to this delicious Mack & Jeezy. I have zero self-control around this yummy casserole. This is great for a potluck or cookout. You can easily double the recipe for a crowd!

Prepared this for my meals-on-wheels folks — recipe as is would make a very nice serving for 6 folks, in my humble opinion. I also did not have enough cottage cheese so added ricotta to the second batch. Cooked in a 3 quart casserole dish which worked very well and enjoyed.
Can this be made the day before you plan on baking this dish?
I think that would be fine
Can I substitute & use velveeta cheese?
Going to double receipe – can it be cooked in slow cooker?
I’ve only made the recipe as written. Any changes and substitutions to the recipe would be up to you.
Did you try cooking the Mack & Jeezy in your slow cooker?
Great recipe. I only discovered your site last year (2020) because COVID, LOL I needed some new ideas to try at home. Family getting tired of same stuff.
Anyhow, tried this recipe for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it. For anyone worried about the cottage cheese, it just melts right in. No-one would even know it’s there. Trust me. I have two picky little nieces and both of them asked for it for Christmas dinner too. So now, I am the designated Mac and CHeese maker.
Super easy recipe and great for picky palates.
SO glad you are enjoying it! I agree that you can’t taste the cottage cheese. It just gives it a nice creamy texture.
My family has been using this recipe for decades, we call it “company mac and cheese” and it’s ALWAYS a huge hit!
Do you think this could be doubled and half of it frozen prior to cooking? Love anything I can cook once and eat twice.
I’m the only person in my family who likes cottage cheese. Do you know if there is anything else I can substitute.
You will just have to use your best judgment for substitutions.
This is my exact mac and cheese recipe that has been in our family for YEARS. The only thing different is that we use Lawry's seasoning salt, instead of regular salt. So good. It's my pot-luck go-to and friends/family ALWAYS rave about it.
And we call it "company mac and cheese."
I saw this recipe and said YUM!!! Then I got to thinking about your ham and cheese puffs recipe and how delicious that is and said what if I add some ham to this dish? That will be a full meal with a side salad!! I love easy and effortless. Thank you.
Great idea!!!
