Mardi Gras is right around the corner. Today I am sharing 21 of my favorite Mardi Gras recipes with you today! These are some of our favorite recipes to celebrate the holiday! Cajun pasta, dirty rice, red beans and rice, Po Boys and KING CAKE! All you need is a Hurricane and you are set to let the good times roll!
Most of the savory recipes use Cajun/Creole seasoning. What is Cajun Seasoning? Both Creole and Cajun cooking terms are used interchangeably. BUT, technically, Cajun and Creole seasonings are slightly different. Cajun seasoning typically only has garlic powder, onion, black pepper, and Cayenne pepper. Creole seasoning will add more herbs such as paprika, oregano, and thyme.
Here is our recipe for Homemade Cajun/Creole Seasoning: https://www.plainchicken.com/creolecajun-seasoning-secret-recipe/
My favorite store-bought Cajun seasonings are Tony Chachere and Slap Ya Mama. Look for salt-free seasoning if you are sensitive to salt. Some of the store-bought seasonings are loaded with salt.

I will be making at least 4-5 of these recipes leading up to Mardi Gras day, I can’t wait to try the Roast Beef Po-Boy. The King Cake Earthquake Cake is a hit every year with my family! ~ Thanks
You are amazing! I have followed you for years and used many, many of your recipes! Most are staples in our house now! My husband is from New Orleans (and we lived there for 8 years) before moving to north Mississippi. This year will be the first Mardi Gras we have missed in many, many years. And with the threat of 5-8 inches of snow…we have decided this is a good weekend to stay indoors. I just read your 21 recipes for Mardi Gras and I believe we are going to make 5 of the recipes between now and Fat Tuesday! This is why I love your recipes. Usually we have all of the ingredients in the house so no need to run to the store. And every recipe is so easy to follow…thanks to your great recipes and videos! We are going to end Tuesday with the King Cake Bubble Up (with a baby inside!) and then return to our Keto eating for Lent! And thank you for sharing so many Keto friendly recipes this year! From your dedicated follower in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Jane And I must add a “Hotty Toddy!”
I so look forward to finding your recipes in my Inbox…so many have become family favorites!
Thank you, Lolly!
