Cat Photos to Make You Happy

don’t know about you, but I need Meow Monday more than ever! There is a lot of difficult news out there right now, and I really enjoy taking a break with some cute cat photos.

It was a pretty uneventful week with the cats. We needed it after all the excitement of the vet visit last week. Everyone was pretty lazy all week. Lots and lots of naps! There was a lot of playtime too. PLUS some outdoor adventures for Felix.

Keep reading for more pictures and updates!   If you want more cat photos and videos, follow us on Instagram: @mackandmango and @plainchicken

Mack’s favorite nap spot this past week was his Cat Ball. He has been alternating between the ball and his little bag. Mack does NOT like it if you touch his ball. We moved it to vacuum and he was distraught that we touched it. After we finished vacuuming, I put it back in his spot. He immediately jumped in and started inspecting it. Don’t worry Mack, I vacuum the ball. All your fur is still there.

Felix’s harness and leash came in. Chicken Legs took him out three times last week. The first time he went out front and just checked things out and sat in the shade. The second time he went on the back deck and wouldn’t move. LOL!. The third time he went out front and really started to explore. He walked around to the back of the house and sat under the deck for a while. When Chicken Legs picked him up to bring him inside, Felix growled at him. LOL!

Chicken Legs is taking him out today. I’ll try to get some pictures this week.

Mango has been doing so much better about jumping and hanging on the screens. The curtains helped and we finally bought a squirt bottle. She HATES it! All we have to is show it to her and she jumps down. We don’t squirt her if she is just doing a little bird watching like she is here.

I hope everyone has a PURRFECT week!!! Stay safe!

Steph

  1. Hi – instead of using a water spray bottle ~ I use the Office Depot Cleaning Duster that you utilize for maintaining your computer keyboard. It is less messy ~ no one gets wet ~ and all you have to do is aim it in the air once and press to release the air. Now, I only need to touch the can and the noise it makes without having to use the spray ~ sends the perfect message. Love orange kitties!

    1. Great idea! I’m going to get that to use in the kitchen. She is always trying to see what I am cooking.

    2. Please don’t use compressed air of any kind on your pets as a deterrent. There are so many harmful chemicals in those cans.
I found out the hard way when I accidentally got some of it on my hands and touched my mouth. The taste!! Horrible!

  2. Oh, Mickie! You are the answer to my prayers! Boo Boo Kitty and I are celebrating our 17th anniversary this month! He’s my wonderful orange tabby cat who was a little starving kitten who adopted me a month before Hurricane Isabel gobsmacked us doing billions of dollars worth of damage! I would not be alive without him! He helped me get through a terrible divorce, Lyme disease, during a terrible house flood followed 11 days later by a Nor’easter that flooded the PODS that had the damaged goods in them from the first flood and I’ve had no support from family and friends! Most importantly he’s been there for me as I’ve become completely disabled, wracked with hideous pain 24/7 and no strength! He KNOWS when I have thought life wasn’t worth living anymore. I need to have my porch rescreened so Boogie can safely enjoy the outdoors and so my wonderful birds don’t fly through the screen! I have been waiting for a solution to squirrels getting through the screen and this heavier screen might just be the answer! I also would like to find something more attractive than chicken wire to reinforce the bottom third of the screened area. (Boogie could protect himself better than my 5 precious abused, abandoned bunnies I rescued over a period of 20 years! (Bonnie Wabbit, Thumper, Clint-he made my day, George and Floyd-he was such a Pretty Boi!). Any suggestions?! I adore your kitties! They remind me of my Boogie!

    1. You should look for hardware cloth. Farmers rarely use chicken wire to protect animals. Because a predator can still reach through to grab them. But hardware cloth has much much smaller holes in it.

If predators are a real problem. You might try running an electric fence wire along the bottom outside edge of it too. Or just supervise them while outside.
Good luck. I know how bad continuous pain can be. . Cats really help tough. I absolutely adore my two.

  3. Love your cats I have one too. They are fun to watch and wonder what’s next. I use the water bottle to.All we have to do is just pick up and point it at him he will stop doing what he knows he not suppose to do.

  4. I love watching for the pictures of your furr babies each week. I have two rescue cats Peaches and Minnie. I got a ramp for Minnie because of her short legs.

  5. Hello Steph!

I LOVE your kitty pictures as I am a cat lover myself. I joined your mailing list because I find you provide consistent fabulous recipes. I love your recipes! Keep up the good work. My fur babies, Tig and Bella, love to watch me cook. Probably hoping for something to drop on the floor!

  6. I look forward to see how the cats are doing every Monday. I’m a cat lover myself. It starts my day with a BIG smile. Thanks for sharing your cats with us.

  7. Lowe’s sells pet screens that are thicker and heavier than regular screens. If you ever have to re-screen your sun room maybe that would be an option. I love Meow Mondays!
