Cat Photos to Make You Happy

I don’t know about you, but I need Meow Monday more than ever! There is a lot of difficult news out there right now, and I really enjoy taking a break with some cute cat photos.

We had an unexpected trip to the vet with Mango last week. She did great in the carrier this time and was an excellent patient! They ended up diagnosing her with epilepsy. I detailed everything below.

Mack & Felix had very uneventful weeks. Felix got to go outside and Mack took lots of naps! Sounds perfect to me!

A little more on Mango. A few weeks ago Chicken Legs noticed she was drooling. We checked her mouth and nothing lookedd weird, so we just kept an eye on her. The next week she knocked over the lamp on our nightstand in the middle of the night. We got up to see what was going on and she was drooling again. She also made a weird meow. Last Monday, I heard a noise and some meows in the bedroom. I went back there and found Mango drooling. We immediately took her into the vet’s office. They took some blood and ran some tests. They ruled out everything and diagnosed her with epilepsy by exclusion. She is taking some medicine twice a day.

She doesn’t have grand mal seizures. Her seizures are VERY mild. Hopefully, the medicine helps and she doesn’t have any more seizures.

I could do a whole post of pictures of Mack on his back. It is his preferred way to hang out. I have hundreds of photos like this on my phone!

He is SO funny and CHILL. I pet his belly more than his head and back. He loves a good belly rub. I’ve never had a cat quite like him.

Grandpa Felix had a good week. Chicken Legs took him for several outdoor adventures. He mostly sits in the mulch in the shade. He walks from the front of the house around to the back and then starts heading up the deck stairs. The adventures wear him out! He sleeps the rest of the day.

I hope everyone has a PURRFECT week!

Steph

  1. I too am sorry about Mango. She should do well on the m3dication, and she is young and strong. But now you must be extra careful to keep her indoors. She must have her medication at the correct times. Drooling is usually post seizure. Her seizures may appear to be just staring into space. The strange cry is a cat’s only way to express distress, fear, or that they have symptoms they don’t understand. Always respond, just in case she needs you. She might lose her balance, dribble abit of urine, or ooze a spot of stool. She needs love and reassurance, and to feel safe and secure in your love. Mack and Felix should understand and might even come to fetch you, if they are concerned for her. You have a lovely marmalade-ginger family. Glad to see Felix is supervised on his outdoor jaunts. He’s a bit too elderly to be off on his own. But the exercise is good for his joints and will keep his muscles and heart toned. God Bless. And my Mika says hi to your trio.MA from Boston, MA

  2. Glad to hear they found out what was wrong and I hope the medication does the trick. I know I worry so much about my little ones when something is wrong. I have two cats and they both have been diagnosed with asthma and they both have to have a puffer once a day. I can see how much you love all your cats and I know by experience we do what we can to keep them healthy.

  3. Stephanie, I’m so relieved that beautiful Mango’s condition isn’t serious, and that there is medication to help her! I know how stressed you must have been when something seemed to be wrong with one of the babies. Keep us updated on Mango.
