Pin This RecipeThis Million Dollar Chicken Alfredo casserole was a HUGE hit in our house. Spaghetti casserole loaded with alfredo sauce, four kinds of cheese and chicken. OMG! How could it not be good?!??! This is a great make-ahead or freezer meal. I like to split the recipe into two pans and bake one and freeze one for later.
As I said, we LOVED this Million Dollar Chicken Alfredo. It is so creamy and delicious. I didn’t want to stop eating it! We served this with a quick salad and a pan of Garlic Parmesan Skillet Bread. It makes a ton, so this is a great casserole for dinner parties or potlucks.
This casserole uses cottage cheese. I already know the emails and comments that are coming. I like cottage cheese in pasta casseroles. I never ever eat it straight out of the container – yuck! BUT it is heavenly in casseroles. If you haven’t tried it, I really encourage you to branch out and try it. If you aren’t ready to trust the word of a tried and true picky eater, you can try and substitute ricotta for the cottage cheese. If you don’t use cottage cheese or ricotta, I have lots of other casseroles on the blog. Check them out! https://www.plainchicken.com/search/label/casserole

Made this for dinner last night and shared with a few friends. Getting raving compliments. I found an easy Alfredo sauce recipe and wow!!! Delish 😜
Any conversions for instant pot? I’m a busy mom and want to make this. My kids love the beef version of million dollar spaghetti. Please help 😩
Has anyone tried this with a noodle substitute such as palmini noodles or spaghetti squash?
Can I use Penne pasta instead of spaghetti, if so how many oz to use?
Can I use. Penne instead of spaghetti?
I’m sure any pasta would work fine.
I’m going to make this tonight for dinner, and will also be trying it with spaghetti squash and Ragu Cauliflower Alfredo sauce when I start my low carb diet in a couple weeks. I’m betting both will be delicious!
Love this recipe! I recently made it Gluten Free for my mom whose allergic to wheat. I used Barilla GF spaghetti noodles and cooked until al dente. I used GF jarred alfredo sauce. I added 6 slices of cooked bacon, chopped, a small onion chopped and 3 cloves of garlic minced.
I bet it was amazing with the bacon! SO glad y’all enjoyed it!
We don’t get Alfredo sauce in a jar (South Africa) or any other version. Is there a recipe ? Tks.
I saw a home made alfredo receipe link on your million dollar chicken alfredo site. Today when I search for it I cannot find it. I wrote it down, made it today and absolutely LOVED it!! Now I want to print it with instructions but am unable to find it again.
Was it this recipe? https://www.plainchicken.com/best-fettuccine-alfredo/
I made my own alfredo sauce and made this tonight. It was really yummy! I think next time I’ll add some blanched broccolli next time. Also I used riccotta cheese instead of cottage cheese. I worked really well. Thank you!
I also used GF noodles
Can this be made in crockpot for how many hours
I’m sure it would work. I would cook it for 4 hours or so on LOW.
Thanks
The ingredients call for cooked chicken, so she doesn't give instructions for it. I usually just cook on the stove with chicken broth and some seasonings. Then shred the chicken up.
Am I supposed to cook the chicken first or put it in frozen? I didn't see it say in the cookig instructions
I halved the recipe as there are only 2 of us. I goofed and add the entire jar of Alfredo sauce and added garlic powder to the cream cheese mixture. This tasted amazing!! My husband requested we have this often (and he NEVER makes food requests except for meatloaf and beef stew). Thank you so much!!!
I love happy accidents! So glad it was a hit!!
Can you use different noodles?
I'm sure that would be fine
If you freeze this meal to cook later, should I change the time baked, if so, how long?
Thaw the casserole completely before baking. You may need to add 5 or 10 minutes if the casserole is cold when baking.
Have you ever made your own alfredo to put in it instead of a jar alfredo?
We have a divided household on cottage cheese…but I'll just say cottage cheese is delicious. It is so good with spaghetti and red sauce too…my daughter gets mad when I don't have any to have with our meal. Lol
What green herb is sprinkled on top in the picture?
Just some dried parsley to make it look good
Wanting to make this on a family ski trip. Do you think I could put all the components of the dish into a crockpot to bake for several hours while we are out?
I think that would be fine. Enjoy!
Do you refrigerate before cooking or after? I have to feed 80-100 people and was planning on making the night before.
I would refrigerate unbaked and bake it before serving so it is hot & fresh
Made this tonight. Tasted great and was super easy to make! I used leftover rotisserie chicken and added a tiny bit more sour cream and cottage cheese than the recipe called for, and it was amazing! Thanks for a stress-free meal to add to the rotation!
I'm planning on making this for dinner tonight, I have some left over shrimp, could I use that instead of the chicken?
I think that should be fine
Putting it into my regular meal rotation is an understatement! It. Was. Amazing! Your recipes never let me down but this one has become my all-time favorite. Thanks for doing what you do so very well, Stephanie!
Do you have instructions for reheating from freezer?
I made this last night for the family. It was incredibly good! Everyone loved it and by the way, you don't taste the cottage cheese. I think the cottage cheese does make it creamier. An easy weeknight meal. Thanks for a great recipe!
This looks so yummy! Do you cook the chicken before layering it in the dish for the oven?
yes. The recipe uses 3 cups cooked chopped chicken
read the recipe dumb ass it says cooked
What brand Alfredo sauce do you use? I haven't been able to find a jar sauce I like yet…
This looks delicious, we just tried million dollar spaghetti this week and loved it.
I like Trader Joe’s Alfredo sauce
If you have a Walmart store near you, I prefer their Great Value Alfredo! My 2nd choice is Ragu😊
What brand of Alfredo sauce do you use? I haven't found one out of a jar that I like yet…
I would like to know, also. I have tried many jarred alfredos, but have yet to find one that I love. Thanks! 🙂
Trader Joe’s is my favorite
Can I use ricotta instead of cottage cheese?
What if don't like cottage cheese? what can I use to substitue
Looks like a great meal for a team dinner. Have you ever made it in a larger quantity, such as a roaster oven?
Looks really good Steph and I like the ease of making. I will definitely use cottage cheese and I'm a big fan of it.
'Twas wondering about the cottage cheese also……………………
I don’t see cottage cheese either.
I don't see cottage cheese in ingredient list or steps.
Hi you say there's cottage cheese but I don't see it in the recipe or did i miss it.
I see it in the recipe today. I didn't see it yesterday. It calls for 1 cup cottage cheese.
