How to Make Old English Sausage Muffins

As I said, these English muffins are super simple to make. Start with cooking some breakfast sausage in a skillet. Add Old English Cheese Spread, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and a dash of cayenne pepper. Cook on low until the cheese has melted. Split English muffins and place them on a baking sheet. Top the muffins with the sausage mixture and bake.

  • My favorite English muffins are Bays brand. Look for them in the refrigerated section at the grocery store.
  • You can find the Old English Cheese Spread near the Velveeta and Cheez Whiz at the grocery store.
  • I used Jimmy Dean sausage. You can use any brand and flavor of breakfast sausage that you enjoy.
  • For appetizers cut each muffin half into quarters. Serve whole muffin halves for breakfast.
  • Can Old English Sausage Muffins be made in advance? Yes! You can assemble the muffins ahead of time and refrigerate them until you are ready to bake.
  • Can Old English Sausage Muffins be frozen? Yes! Assemble the muffins and cool them completely. Place the muffins on a baking sheet and freeze. Once frozen, transfer the muffins to a ziplock bag and put them back in the freezer.
    • To bake the frozen muffins, thaw and bake as directed.
    • You can bake the muffins from frozen, simply add a few minutes to the cooking time.

  1. I seem to remember Old English cheese spread being around our house during the holidays when I was a child. Didn’t realize it was still around. I’ll have to look for it. These english muffins looks sooo good. Thanks for the recipe!

  2. Definitely will make these. I am thinking this mixture would also be good to make stuffed mushrooms, invert mushroom, remove stem and fill with sausage mix. Bake.
