Creamy Chicken Noodle Casserole

This Old School Chicken Noodle casserole is seriously delicious! We had this for dinner last week and absolutely LOVED it. Everyone cleaned their plate and went back for seconds! SO good! This dish is super simple to make and has tons of great flavor! Chicken and noodles loaded with cream cheese, parmesan cheese, sour cream, and topped with buttery Ritz cracker crumbs. Comfort food at its best! You must give this a try. It is sure to be a hit!

How to Make Old School Chicken Noodle Casserole

This casserole is easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add a package of egg noodles and cook according to the instructions on the package for al dente. Drain noodles and set them aside. In a large bowl, stir together cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, cream cheese, sour cream, grated parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add chicken and cooked noodles to the bowl and stir to combine. Spray a baking dish with cooking spray. Spread the noodle mixture into the prepared pan. In a small bowl, combine melted butter and crushed Ritz crackers. Sprinkle cracker mixture over the casserole. Bake in a preheated oven until bubbly.

  • I use a rotisserie chicken in this recipe. You can use any cooked chopped chicken that you prefer. Chicken breasts, chicken thighs, or chicken tenderloins are all great.

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF. Lightly spray a 9×13-inch pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
  • Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • Remove skin from rotisserie chicken and discard. Pull meat from chicken and chop.
  • In a large bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, cream cheese, sour cream, parmesan cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
  • Add cooked noodles and chopped chicken. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  • Spread mixture into prepared pan.
  • In a small bowl, combine Ritz cracker crumbs and melted butter. Top the casserole with cracker crumbs.
  • Bake uncovered for 45 to 55 minutes, until bubbly.

  1. Prepped this ahead of time, for 20 people. Cooked it up for a Seniors lunch. They all absolutely loved it. And loved the cruch to crackers/butter added. (( Although, I did add in 1 can of rotel and a small can of green chiles, to the mix. )) Thank you.

  3. This was very delicious. My only issue was that is needed more moisture, which I added maybe 11/2 cups, other than that,. great flavors, will make again!!!!
