Now that we got Thanksgiving out of the way, we can start talking about Christmas treats! YAY! Today I am sharing a delicious twist on Muddy Buddies – Oreo Muddy Buddies! Are you familiar with Muddy Buddies? Muddy Buddies are usually Chex cereal coated in a peanut butter chocolate mixture and powdered sugar. Some people refer to Muddy Buddies as Puppy Chow because it looks like dog food. I prefer to call it Muddy Buddies – LOL!
Whatever you call it, you MUST add these Oreo Muddy Buddies to your holiday baking list. They are SOOOOO good! I had to give most of these Oreo Muddy Buddies away to keep from eating them all by myself. They were that good! I have a batch in the pantry right now. I’m taking it to the football game tomorrow. I have a feeling they won’t last long!
How to Make Oreo Muddy Buddies
This dessert is super easy to make. No oven required! Start by melting together some peanut butter and chocolate chips. Toss mini Oreo cookies in the peanut butter mixture and then toss in powdered sugar. That is it! See, super easy! It literally takes all of 5 minutes to whip this snack up. I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. These things are dangerous!
- I used gallon ziplock bags to toss the Oreo cookies in the powdered sugar. You could also use a clean paper bag.
- Let the coated muddy buddies set up on some wax paper or parchment paper.
- How Long will Muddy Buddies Keep? These will keep 1 to 2 weeks in an airtight container. I usually keep them in a ziplock bag for easy snacking!
