Sausage & Pepperoni Pizza Puffs – quick Bisquick and buttermilk drop biscuits loaded with sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella, and Italian seasoning. SO good! Super simple to make and ready in minutes! These make a great appetizer, snack, and a quick lunch or dinner. I usually double the recipe for parties because these things fly off the plate! Serve with some warm pizza sauce or marinara. Use gluten-free Bisquick for a gluten-free snack.

How to Make Sausage & Pepperoni Pizza Puffs
These pizza bites are super simple to make with only a few simple ingredients. Start with cooking sausage in a skillet until crumbled and no longer pink. Combine Bisquick, mozzarella cheese, and Italian seasoning. Add cooked sausage and chopped pepperoni. Stir in buttermilk until a dough forms. Using a medium cookie scoop, scoop dough onto a baking sheet and bake.
- I used Jimmy Dean hot sausage. You can substitute turkey sausage for a lower calorie option.
- I used Hormel mini pepperoni. You can use any pepperoni that you enjoy in this dish.
- Use Gluten-Free Bisquick for a gluten-free recipe.
- Feel free to add any of your favorite pizza toppings to the dough – mushrooms, peppers, onions, olives.
- To make homemade buttermilk, combine 1 cup of milk with 1 Tbsp of white vinegar or lemon juice. Let stand for 5 minutes or until the milk starts to curdle.
- I used a medium cookie scoop to make the puffs. You can use a small cookie scoop or a large cookie scoop. You will just need to adjust the cooking time.
- Can pizza puffs be frozen? Yes! You can freeze the leftover biscuits for later. Let the biscuits cool completely and place in a freezer bag and freeze. Reheat in the microwave or covered in foil in the oven.
What to Serve with Pizza Bites
We like to serve these bites with warm pizza sauce or marinara sauce. They are also delicious with some Homemade Ranch Dressing.
