I don’t post a lot of Halloween shaped food, but I couldn’t resist posting these Ghoulish Pizza Skulls! Aren’t they awesome!!! I just love the way it looks like guts coming out of the skull! They would be perfect for Halloween parties and after trick-o-treating.

I bought the pan from Amazon. They also sell it at Williams-Sonoma. The pizza skulls are so easy to make and customizable for everyone. We filled the pizza dough with sausage and pepperoni. Chicken Legs has requested to have his skulls filled with pepperoni, mushrooms and green pepper next time.

You can bake these ahead of time and freeze them for your party or Halloween dinner. Make sure to bake them first and then freeze them. Just thaw and reheat in the oven or microwave when you are ready to devour them!

**These would also be good for any The Walking Dead premier parties!**

  1. God bless people like you who allow my uncreative self to have some truly amazing themed food at my annual Halloween party ❤️

  2. Mine came out perfect! Just a note–I used two different Pilsbury pizza dough–the thin crust and the thick crust. I recommend the thick crust. It bakes up much more full than the thin crust, and the result is a bigger skull head. I stuffed more sauce and cheese in mine too so it oozed more!

  3. If using veggies in them like mushrooms, peppers, onions, etc – Would you suggest cooking the veggies first or do you think they cook through enough in the process of baking the skulls?

    1. It just depends on how crispy you like your veggies. If using fresh mushrooms, I would definitely cook them. They release a lot of liquid as they cook. It could make the pizza skulls runny.

    1. I would thaw them and either microwave them or reheat them covered in the oven at 350ºF for about 20 to 25 minutes.

  4. This might be a silly question but I’m bringing these to a potluck—would it be better to freeze them right up until I reheat them in the toaster oven or to thaw them in the refrigerator for a few hours, then reheat? Thank you!

    1. I haven’t frozen these unbaked, so I can’t comment on how they turn out. I’ve baked & reheated them & they are fine.

    1. I am so excited to try this, I’m throwing a last minute Halloween party and I blew my budget on decorations. Oops! I’m looking to make yummy Halloween treats on the cheap. Has anyone tried this with the Nordic bitelets pan? Or with silicone molds? Thanks again for posting a great recipe.

  5. Just made these in the nordicware 6 skull tin. Pepperoni, black olives and bacon, tasty and super cool skulls. Thanks for the recipe!

  6. I have this pan and LOVE your idea! Do you think I can use pie crust and fill with nutella and cherry preserves and then freeze them until Halloween? I need to make 25 but am not sure if it will freeze/defrost well.

  7. I have this pan and was wondering how to make something interesting in it so thank you!!! Can I make them with pie dough and fill with nutella and cherry preserves and freeze them until Halloween? I have to make 25 but am cute sure if that will freeze and defrost well. What do you think?

  8. I love this! Unfortunately, that pan isn't available any longer. Now, they sell one with only 2 skulls.

  9. I love this idea. It's so absolutely perfect. I wish I had time to order the pan. No Williams and Sonoma store near me.
