What is Pumpkin Pie Spice?

Pumpkin Pie Spice is a blend of four spices – cinnamon, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, and allspice. You can find it in the spice aisle at the grocery store. If you don’t have any on hand, you can make your own with ½ tsp cinnamon, ¼ tsp ginger, ¼ tsp nutmeg, ¼ tsp allspice.

How to Make Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Rolls

These sweet rolls are super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, brown sugar, and pumpkin pie spice. Unroll a can of french bread dough at the seam and form into a rectangle. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the surface of the dough, leaving a 1/4-inch border. Sprinkle granulated sugar over cream cheese. Starting with the long edge, roll the dough into a log. Pinch the edges to seal. Using a serrated knife, slice the cinnamon roll dough into 12 rolls. Place rolls cut side down into a 9-inch cake pan or baking dish. Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown.

In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and milk. Pour the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls.

  1. I can never find the french bread dough… could you substitute crescent roll sheets or puff pastry sheets? (Made your puff pastry cinnamon rolls the other night and everyone went crazy for them would this work for that also?)
