There are only 5 ingredients in this recipe – sausage, cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, cheddar cheese, and refrigerated biscuits. I used a roll of Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage. You can use any brand of sausage you prefer. Sometimes I like to use a roll of hot sausage to give these biscuit bites a little kick. YUM!
The sausage and cream cheese mixture can be made ahead of time and refrigerated until you are ready to assemble and bake the biscuit bites. I used Grands! Jr. biscuits – the kind with 10 smaller biscuits in the can. Make sure you buy the smaller biscuits – not the giant Grands!.
I make this recipe in a mini muffin pan. Feel free to use a regular muffin pan. If you are using a regular muffin pan, you will need to adjust the baking time. Just watch the biscuits and cook until they are golden brown.
These biscuit bites are perfect for tailgating, holiday parties, and breakfast! This recipe makes 40 biscuit bites. That sounds like a lot, but there are never any leftovers when I take these to our tailgate!!
Sausage and Cream Cheese Biscuit Bites
Ingredients:
- 1 lb sausage (I used Jimmy Dean brand)
- 1 (8-oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 (12-oz) cans Grands Jr flaky biscuits (20 biscuits in total)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375ºF. Lightly spray mini muffin pans with cooking spray, set aside.
- Cook sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Drain fat.
- Stir together cooked sausage, cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Remove biscuits from cans and split each biscuit into to two. Place each biscuit round into muffin tin. Scoop sausage mixture into biscuit cups.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until biscuits are golden brown.

So I bought regular sized grand flakey biscuits and used a regular muffin tin it made a total of 32 bigger in size but I'm going to assume just as yummy. Baked for the 12-15 mins and they are a hit! My boys love a warm savory breakfast during the colder months and these are going to be my quick and easy go to. Super easy to make and easy clean up which is always a plus!
I couldn’t find Grands Jr flaky biscuits, so i had to get regular Grands. Would you half them and use one biscuit for two spots in the muffin tin or what do you think?
I made these before and they were delicious! I made them again tonight but instead of sausage I used chopped rotisserie chicken and substituted Worcestershire with ranch dressing. I also added a little bit of bacon bits and a little garlic powder. They turned out awesome!
If I use off brand biscuits regular size how many are in a roll? Basically how many mini muffins should I end up with??
This has to be my most favorite recipe EVER! A co-worker made it, brought it in to work, and they ALL were gone in less than an hour (there's only about nine of us on that floor…oops!). It's now my go-to for any gathering. (I also enjoy making it for myself, freezing it and eating a few at a time for an easy no-fuss breakfast when I'm in a hurry.)
How would you recommend keeping these warm if taking to a potluck or office party???

We made them today with regular sized bicuits and muffin tins, and ooooooh so good. It made exactly 20 full size ones!

I think you would be safe making it 4 to 5 days in advance

I don’t have the nutritional information. There are several websites online that you can plug the ingredients into and get it.
With regular muffin size, would you use the biscuit whole or still split it?
I make them in the mini muffin pan and split the biscuits. You will just need to experiment with the regular pan and see what works best for you.
