The 4th of July is next week. Can you believe it? Where is summer going?? These Slow Cooker Beef and Pork Sandwiches are on our holiday menu. They taste fantastic, and the slow cooker does all the work! These sandwiches can also be made in advance of your dinner and refrigerated for several days. This is my kind of recipe!
These sandwiches were delicious! I loved the combination of beef and pork. I also loved that this didn’t use a bottled BBQ sauce. The sauce is made right in the slow cooker as the meat cooks. This makes a good amount of BBQ. I ate some of the leftovers as nachos. YUM! Give these Slow Cooker Beef and Pork Sandwiches a try at your next BBQ. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Slow Cooker Beef and Pork Sandwiches
- 1 ½ lb beef stew meat
- 1 ½ lb pork tenderloin, cubed
- 2 Tbsp dried minced onion flakes
- 1 (6oz) can tomato paste
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup white vinegar
- 1 Tbsp chili powder
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Combine all ingredients in slow cooker. Cook on LOW for 10 hours. Skim off any fat and shred meat.
Serve on sandwich bun and top with pickles, if desired.
Duh – the BBQer says as he reads this posts and says "why have I never thought to combine the two meats". Then he says Duh again and tells you it looks delicious.
