These Slow Cooker Whiskey Meatballs are crazy delicious! They are so easy to make and pack a ton of great flavor. They are perfect for tailgating, holiday parties, or even dinner. The best part about this recipe is that it only has 6 ingredients! Frozen meatballs, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and bourbon.

I used Maker’s Mark for the bourbon in this recipe. Any whiskey or bourbon will work great. If you like it, throw it in the crockpot! This recipe uses frozen meatballs. There are many different sizes of meatballs in the frozen food section. I used ½ ounce meatballs.  I think they are the perfect bite-sized snack.

We made these for tailgating and then ate the leftovers for dinner. The meatballs are great served over some mashed potatoes or rice. If you serve these for dinner, don’t miss out on all the yummy sauce in the slow cooker. Make sure to pour the extra sauce over the meatballs when you serve them. The sauce is way too good to let go to waste. YUM!

  1. It says “Whiskey Meatball Cupcake”. But it appears that the cupcake part has vanished. What dis you use for cupcake part? I love your cooking!

  2. Fabulous recipe. Get requests for your recipe every party – and before we held at least three large parties a year.
Just need to know by July 4 (short notice, I know) how many Costco meatballs a 6qt slow cooker will hold?
    Thank you!

    1. I am not familiar with Costco’s meatballs. I buy frozen meatballs at the grocery store and I could easily get 4 pounds in a 6-qt slow cooker. Maybe even 6 pounds.

    1. What a great idea! But unfortunately, without further recipe testing, I cannot answer with certainty. As always, please use your best judgment regarding substitutions and modifications.

  3. I used Italian-style meatballs from costco. It comes in a 6 lbs. bag so adjust this recipe accordingly.

  4. Has anyone tried with Fireball whiskey? It has a cinnamon flavor I’m in love with right now. Speaking of love, I’ve been trying several of your recipes and my family is crazy about them. All so good! I like the idea of trying lil smokies with this. We also love the meatballs from Trader Joe’s.

    1. I think Fireball is a brilliant idea. I’m going to try that too!!! I think I have some meatballs in the freezer- hmmm.

So glad you are enjoying the recipes!!????

    2. Did you try it with the Fireball? How did you like it? I would expect something cinnamon-y would give the meatballs kind of a nice Indian flavor.

    1. That’s what I always use. They are the best, and you can make them for a big crowd. I have them in the crockpot right now. Can’t wait!!

  5. Do you start with frozen meatballs, or do you have to defrost before adding to the slow cooker?

  6. Made this for a baby shower thrown at a brewery. Everyone loved them! I made a triple batch and the crowd was not as big as planned. So the left over went to the guests and they were devoured in seconds! Great recipe!!!

  7. Any recommendations for good frozen meatballs. I have tried several brands that just didn't taste very good.

  8. I'm going to assume yes, but still need to ask to be sure…if I'm making meatballs from scratch will I have to adjust the cooking time…if so…how long?

  9. I have made these MANY times! First time was for New Years a few years ago. You can smell the bourbon when you take the lid off the crock pot. These are always popular!

  10. Good morning!! I'm cooking for a baby shower, at work, on Monday. Now I'm torn between this recipe and the Grape Jelly Meatballs. Which would you recommend? Is the alcohol prevalent in this recipe or does it burn off in the cooking process. I'm so torn now!! Which would you choose? Thanks!
