This Smoked Sausage & Turkey Brunswick Stew is loaded with smoked sausage, turkey, lima beans, corn, tomato sauce, chicken broth, and BBQ sauce. To make the soup, slice the smoked sausage into bite-sized pieces, Brown the sausage in a Dutch oven. Add the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 20 minutes.
- The BBQ sauce makes all the difference in this stew. Make sure to use one that you really enjoy. My favorite BBQ sauce is Williamson Bros BBQ sauce – they sell it at Walmart and Amazon. I also like Stubbs BBQ Sauce and G Hughes’ Sugar-Free BBQ Sauce.
- I used Conecuh smoked sausage in this stew. Feel free to substitute turkey smoked sausage if you are watching your calories. I know every little bit helps this time of year!! It will still taste delicious.
- Can Brunswick Stew be made in the slow cooker? Yes! Sauté the smoked sausage and add all the ingredients to the crockpot. Cover and cook on LOW or HIGH until the stew is hot.
- Is Brunswick Stew gluten-free? As long as you use a gluten-free BBQ sauce, this soup is gluten-free.
