This is such an easy recipe to make and it tastes fantastic. I mean, it has cheese and bacon. How could it be bad?!?! One bite and it is sure to become a family favorite.
How to Make Smothered Pork Chops
This casserole is super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. Season boneless pork chops with seasoned salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil or vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add pork chops to the skillet and give them a good sear on both sides, just until they start to turn golden brown.
Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Spread cooked rice in the bottom of the pan. Place browned pork chops on top of the rice. In a small bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup and milk. Pour soup mixture over boneless chops. Bake uncovered until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145ºF. Remove the pan from the oven. Sprinkle shredded cheese and cooked chopped bacon over the top of the pork chops. Bake for an additional 5 minutes, until the cheese has melted.

I think that would be just fine.
Have you tried adding ranch seasoning mix to this to make it a “crack” recipe?
I haven’t but that sounds delicious!

Can this be done in an instapot?
Are you sure the cheese amounts listed is correct? When looking at the picture it appears as though there is way more cheese on top than 1/2 c cheddar. Maybe the mozzarella is a half and cheddar is 3/4 C??
Use as much cheese as you wish.
Can this be doubled? should I double ingredients if I double pork chops
Can I double the porkchops? If so do

if i choose not to sear the chops ahead of time and just put them ontop of the cooked rice; how long extra should i let it bake?
I don’t have an exact time for you. You will just have to check them and see when they reach 145ºF.
I made this tonight for dinner..instead of regular rice I used cauliflower rice. So Good!
I never leave ratings or comments but this one deserves it. This recipe is for sure going in the rotation—maybe even starting lineup. So good.
SO glad you enjoyed it!!
OMG!!! F8NALLY a “smothered” recipe that doesn’t require ONIONS!!! Hubby suffers 2 chronic gastroesophageal conditions which make onions (and a HOST of other foods) BIG NO-NO’s, this will be the FIRST smothered recipe I can make without omitting a BIGA part of it!!! Can’t wait to make it!!!
Could I use pork steak instead of boneless pork chops
I used mushroom soup and I’d instead,Fantastic.bon appetite.
Will the pork chops not turn out dry and hard with the frying and baking time?
nope
Could you do this in the crockpot??

Very good question. I think I will try that this evening.
This recipe looks wonderful, but my husband does not like pork chops. Do you have any suggestions for substitute protein.
Can you substitute pasta for the rice?
freezable? I cook for my elderly father and try to make things ahead and freeze so he can just take out a single portion to heat and eat.
I think it would freeze fine.
I like to buy a pork roast then cut them into pork chops. About how thick of a cut for this recipe?

Is it okay to use instant rice as long as it's cooked of course?
Sure! Any cooked rice will work. Enjoy!
Made this for supper last night. It was AH-Mazing! Everyone loved it, even my picky eaters! Thanks for sharing. I'll definitely be making this again.
Does the rice get soggy? My rice only takes 15 minutes to cook. Should I put it in uncooked?
I've never heard of soggy rice. I don't think uncooked rice would be done in the time the casserole bakes, but you can cook this however you wish.
Love that fall comfort food! And I've got some picky eaters, so any and all "clean plate club" recipes are needed at my house. Thanks, Steph!
