I saw this recipe online and was instantly intrigued. I had never heard of a food called “bird dog”. After some research, I found out they are a “thing” in South Carolina. Nick Henry’s and J C’s Sandwich Shoppe are apparently famous for them. SO, what is a bird dog you ask? Chicken fingers, bacon, cheese and honey mustard in a bun – or perfection in my book.

This is a fantastic tailgating recipe. Simply buy some chicken fingers on the way to the tailgate and assemble them in the parking lot. The only special equipment you need is a kitchen blow torch. You can use the blow torch to melt the cheese and heat up the chicken and bun. These are my new favorite way to eat chicken fingers!

One note – I used Martin’s Potato Rolls for this recipe. I adore Martin’s Potato Rolls. They are the best! If you can find them, I highly suggest using them.
