How to Make Strawberry Tres Leches Cake

This dessert is super simple to make with only a few simple ingredients. Prepare a box of strawberry cake mix according to package instructions. Pour batter into a 9×13-inch pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Bake in a preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean. Remove the cake from the oven and immediately poke holes all over the cake with a chopstick or fork.

In a large bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, half-and-half, and evaporated milk. Pour the milk mixture over the warm cake and cool completely. Cover the cake and refrigerate it overnight to let the milk soak into the cake.

In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix on high speed until stiff peaks form. Spread the whipped cream over the cake and top with crushed freeze-dried and/or fresh strawberries.
