How to Make Super Soft Rice Krispie Treats

These treats are super easy to make. Start with melting butter in a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium-low heat. Add sweetened condensed milk and stir with a wooden spoon until combined. Add marshmallows and stir continuously until melted. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in vanilla extract, crispy rice cereal, and an additional cup of mini marshmallows. Using a spatula, press the cereal mixture into a baking dish or baking pan that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate until the treats are firm. Cut into squares and enjoy.

  1. Question– is it 1- 10oz bag mini marshmallows PLUS another 1c to add in later? Or 1 bag, remove a cup for mixing in later before melting?

    1. one bag PLUS one cup of marshmallows. You can skip the extra marshmallows if you prefer. We just like the extra whole marshmallows.

    1. Thanks for pointing that out. My go-to gluten-free rice cereals are Yes! Malt O Meal, Wegmans, Erewhon, or Aldi.
