Sweet Heat Chicken – hot sauce and brown sugar marinated chicken that is totally ADDICTING! This is the perfect combination of sweet and spicy! Hot sauce, vinegar, olive oil, onion, garlic, Worcestershire, brown sugar. AMAZING flavor combination! We ate this twice in one week! SO good!
Sweet and Spicy is one of my favorite flavor combinations. That being said, I am addicted to this Sweet Heat Chicken. It is the perfect combination of sweet and spicy!
The chicken is marinated in a combination of hot sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire and garlic. The base of the marinade is the hot sauce. Even though this is marinated in a lot of hot sauce, it didn’t have a lot heat. I think the sweetness from the brown sugar balances out the heat in the hot sauce. It was incredibly delicious!
We served this chicken as a main dish for lunch and ate the leftovers in a wrap for dinner. SO good!!!
Just an FYI, I used Frank’s Hot Sauce in the marinade. I LOVE Frank’s! I always have a giant bottle in the fridge ready to use!

I was really unsure about this recipe. I thought the combo of Worcestershire and hot sauce together was weird. But I went with it and as it was marinading I was thinking of a plan b for dinner. But WOW, was I surprised at how good this was. Amazing flavor combo of sweet and spicy. I swapped the brown sugar with a low carb brown sugar (Swerve) and I don’t think it changed the flavor much. This will go into my rotation for sure.
Can this be baked in the oven?
