Easy Teriyaki Broccoli and Mushrooms

Broccoli is one of our go-to vegetables. I am always thinking of new ways to prepare it so we don’t get tired of eating it. This Teriyaki Broccoli is a favorite at our house. It is super easy to make and tastes great! Fresh broccoli, shallots, and mushrooms simmered in a quick garlic teriyaki glaze. Best of all, this side dish is ready to eat in 15 minutes! Quick, easy, AND delicious. Those are my three favorite things in a recipe.

How to Make Broccoli & Mushrooms in the Skillet

This broccoli is super easy to make. Start with melting some butter in a skillet. Add chopped shallot, fresh broccoli, and fresh sliced mushrooms. Cook until the vegetables start to soften. Toss in some garlic and teriyaki sauce. Cook a few more minutes. Sprinkle with some sesame seeds and enjoy!

I usually use Sweet Baby Ray’s Teriyaki Sauce. You can also use Kikkoman teriyaki sauce. I prefer Sweet Baby Ray’s sauce because it is thicker. Either one will work fine.

This is a great dish to turn into a quick main dish. Toss in some chicken, pork tenderloin or steak for a super duper easy dinner. If you are using raw meat, saute it in the skillet first and then add the vegetables. If you are using leftover meat, just toss it in when you add the vegetables so it is warm when the vegetables are done cooking.

What to Serve with Teriyaki Broccoli

We serve this easy broccoli with just about everything. Grilled steaks, chicken, pork, casseroles – you get the idea. This is a very versatile side dish. Here are a few of our favorite recipes from the blog that go great with this quick sauteed broccoli side dish:

  1. I have made this recipe twice now. The first time I made it as written, and it was very good. The second time I added a splash of sesame oil to the butter before adding the veggies and it was amazing!! Keep up the good work =)

    1. I’m not sure as I don’t know what you like. You can leave the mushrooms out and it will still taste fine.

  2. Excellent recipe! I used canned mushrooms, that was the only change that I made. The flavor was excellent and the recipe came together in a flash. Thank you!
