If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram, you already know that we took a vacation from Thanksgiving and headed to Vegas. We were originally going to go to the beach, but we found a Jackpot Deal from Southwest that was only a few hundred dollars more. We couldn’t pass it up!
We stayed at the Palazzo this time. We loved the location and the rooms. All the rooms are suites – can’t beat that!
The first thing we did after we dropped off our luggage was go place a bet on the Auburn/Alabama game.
We took Auburn and the points. We were confident homers.
Next we headed to one of our favorite spots, Lavo, for a drink and appetizer.
We got an order of Arancini.
We hadn’t eaten since breakfast our time, so we were hungry.
You can see in the background why Chicken Legs loves this bar.
Dinner on our first night was at one of our favorite places, Old Homestead.
We got the same thing we did back in May. YUM!
Thanksgiving day was completely untraditional. We ate all of my favorite foods!
Lunch was pizza from Grimaldi’s.
This pizza is amazing!
For dessert we checked out the new Buddy V’s Ristorante.
We had the cannolis.
They had chocolate chips and pistachios on the ends and were served with a chocolate sauce.
They were great!
We also got Buddy’s XL Lobster Tail.
It was a flaky pastry shell filled with the most delicious custard cream.
Thanksgiving dinner was at Sinatra’s in the Wynn.
We loved the decor.
They played old Frank Sinatra movies on the TV above the bar.
We started with the meatballs and polenta fries.
It was great. The meatballs were small – perfect for a starter.
Chicken Legs got the Chicken Parmesan.
He also got a small side of penne pasta.
I went with the lasagna.
We both loved everything!
We were sad we didn’t have a place for the leftovers in our room.
We both thought it would have tasted even better the next day.
Sinatra’s finished the meal with a little dessert tray.
I especially loved the caramel.
Friday started off with me getting my hair done at the Cristophe Salon at MGM.
We hit the slots at MGM before heading to lunch.
I won $300! Paid for my hair and lunch!
Lunch was at the new pizza place at the Aria.
Five50 is located right next to the Sports Book at the Aria.
We started with the Pepperoni Arancini.
We loved these!
We went with the Gotham Pizza. Tons of meat and cheese.
It was fantastic. I hated that we couldn’t eat it all. It was too good to leave any behind!
We couldn’t decide if we liked this pizza better than Grimaldi’s.
They are so different.
We would eat at both again.
Dinner ended up being at the bar Carnevino.
We had drinks at the bar the night before and decided that we had to eat here on this trip.
We have eaten here many times, but never at the bar.
We started with some Blood Orange Cosmos.
They were filled to the brim!
Normally water isn’t something that I would mention, but the water at Carnevino was the best I’ve ever had.
It tasted SO good and was ICE cold. It really hit the spot after a long day of walking in Vegas.
Upon the recommendation of our awesome bartender, Cooper, we ordered the Beef Cheek Ravioli for an appetizer.
This isn’t on the menu. They only make about 20-30 servings per night. It was handmade ravioli with a beef cheek filling served with Chefs butter and drizzled with balsamic vinegar.
O-M-G! This was life changing. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. If you go, get this!
For dinner we split the Braised Short Rib over a Sweet Potato Mascarpone Puree.
Um, this was the best short rib I’ve ever eaten.
Cooper hooked us up with a glass of the best red wine I’ve ever had in my whole life. It went perfectly with the short rib.
This was the best meal we had in Vegas this time (if not ever).
We will definitely be back at the bar on our next trip!
If you go, tell Cooper Plain Chicken sent you!
Saturday was our last day in Vegas. Our flight left late that night.
We had lunch before the big football game at Emeril’s Table 10.
We had a reservation, but since it wasn’t busy we decided to sit at the bar.
The rolls at Table 10 were SO good! I wanted to eat about 10 of these.
We had to try the candied bacon on the menu.
It was delicious.
It was served with maple syrup and had a little kick.
I excepted nothing less from Emeril.
We also sampled the Chicken and Sausage gumbo.
I am really into gumbo since our trip to NOLA this fall.
This gumbo was great! It also had a kick. We loved it!
Chicken Legs went with the Fish and Chips for his entree.
He said it was delicious.
I got the Slow Roasted Pork Po Boy.
BEST BBQ sandwich ever!
I wished I could have finished it.
I am on the hunt for this recipe. The sauce was to-die-for!
After lunch we headed down to Lagasse’s Stadium to watch the Auburn/Alabama game.
We ended up getting the most amazing suite for a minimum $50 bar tab.
Click to see the whole room.
The suite had a 3 large flat screen TVs, a pool table, a Ms Packman/Galaga arcade machine, private bathroom, and a dedicated waitress.
Chicken Legs played video games during commercial breaks and half-time.
We ordered a pretzel that was bigger than my head to snack on.
After the game, we collected our bet and hit the tables for a little while before our flight.
We are thinking Thanksgiving in Vegas might become a new tradition for us!
