Our favorite spot on our west coast trip was Seattle. We had both been to Seattle for work, but we had never been together. We were excited to finally go and check out the city.
We fell in LOVE with Seattle. We loved everything about it. I hated that we only had two days to explore. We managed to pack a TON of stuff into those two days!! TONS!
I already have a list of things I want to do when we go back.
What are your favorite things in Seattle? Please leave them in the comments!
Pike Place Market
We woke on our first morning in Seattle and headed straight for Pike Place Market.
We went on a Sunday morning, so it was packed.
My favorite thing about the market was all the amazing flowers.
All the bouquets were only $10.
If I lived in Seattle, I would buy flowers from the market every day!!!
They were the most beautiful flower that I’ve ever seen!
Of course we saw the famous fish tossers too.
They weren’t tossing a lot of fish while we were standing there though.
We walked around and sampled tons of great food in the market!
We nibbled on a little of this and a little of that.
I’m sharing our favorites below.

The line was out the door for coffee!
We skipped the coffee and just bought a few mugs.

Beecher’s Handmade Cheese
Beecher’s Handmade Cheese claims to have the World’s Best Mac & Cheese.
We couldn’t pass up giving it a try!!
The key to Beecher’s Mac & Cheese is their handmade cheese.
You can watch them make it right in the store!
We shared a small tub of the original mac & cheese.
It was ridiculously good!
We also got a garlic bread stick. SOOO good!
I wish I had a dozen right now!
The recipe for the mac and cheese is on their website.
I made some when got home – I made a couple of changes that really put it over the top!

Piroshky, Piroshky
Piroshky, Piroshky sells Russian pastries in Pike Place Market.
They had good reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor, so we gave it a try.
Now, there is a LONG line, but it moves quickly.
They were sold out of some of the pastries that we wanted to try, so we had to make quick decisions on what to get.
We got the savory Beef and Cheese – a mix of seasoned ground beef and Columbia Valley Sharp Cheddar. It is their top selling Piroshky.
The second Piroshky we sampled was theĀ Cinnamon & Cardamon Ā – pastry twisted into a braid, accented with raisins and orange peel. Hot out of the oven it is finished off with a Honey Lemon Glaze and a dash of chocolate. It was good, but not the best. I would skip it next time.

We always take a boat tour if we can find one on vacation.
It is a great way to see the city!
Best view of the Space Needle on the tour.
It was SOOOO cold on the boat! The wind didn’t help!
SO pretty!
Seattle is a huge port.

Ā Seattle Great Wheel
I talked Chicken Legs into riding the Great Wheel with me.
He is afraid of heights, but it is only 175 feet tall, so he agreed to ride it with me.
There are great views of all the construction!
You go around twice. It was fun and Chicken Legs said it wasn’t bad.

Red Robin
We stopped in at Red Robin next to the boat tour company for a drink and ended up getting these onion rings.
Look at them! CRAZY!
Ā Three Girls Bakery
Chicken Legs needed a cookie break.
We decided to stop at Three Girls Bakery and grab a few.
The Peanut Butter cookie was THE BEST peanut butter cookie I’ve ever eaten in a bakery.
Peanut Butter perfection!
If you are in Seattle, grab me a dozen and mail them to me!
The Snickerdoodle was perfect!
We fought over this M&M Cookie – YUM!
Grab a few of these for walking around the market.
SO good!

Ā TheĀ Metropolitan Grill
The Metropolitan Grill is my favorite steakhouse. I have been several times for work (a lifetime ago). I recommend it to everyone that goes to Seattle and they all love it.
The Metropolitan Grill was a block from our hotel. We walked over for dinner at the bar.
We started with the Caramel Bacon – CARAMEL BACON!
O-M-G!!!!
All bacon should be smothered in caramel.
All bacon should be smothered in caramel.
Chicken Legs got the filet.
It was cooked to perfection.
He also got an order of mushrooms.
He loves mushrooms!
I got the skirt steak and a baked potato.
Skirt steak is my favorite cut of meat.
If you haven’t had skirt steak, go get some and grill it up tonight!
(I have lots of skirt steak marinades on the blog).
You won’t regret trying it!
The baked potato at The Met is THE BEST baked potato you will ever eat.
The first time I ate this potato, I fell in love.
I can still remember how amazing that first bite was.
I dream about this potato – perfectly cooked topped with butter, bacon and cheese sauce.
The cheese sauce is what makes this potato!
GET THIS!
If we had one more night in Seattle, we would have eaten here again.
It was amazing! A MUST when you are in Seattle.

Biscuit Bitch
We started our second day with breakfast at Biscuit Bitch.
Chicken Legs found this place online and it was at the top of our list of places to eat!
It is a block from Pike Place Market. We tried to eat here on Sunday, but it was slammed!
We decided to come back on Monday when most people would be at work.
Biscuit Bitch is a tiny place. There is a tiny bar that you can eat your biscuit.
There are also a few tables outside.
We started at the tiny stand-up bar and moved outside after a table opened up.
Chicken Legs got the Hot Mess Bitch – Biscuit and Gravy, Eggs and Garlic Grits smothered in Cheese, Grilled Louisiana Hot Link and Jalapenos
I had to take a few pictures of his “bitch” to get all the ingredients in the shot!
The grits were good!
His “bitch” also came with an egg.
He opted for scrambled.
YUM!
I went with theĀ Cheesy Pork nā Bitch.
Biscuit and Gravy smothered with Cheddar and Crispy Crumbled Bacon
HEAVEN!!
We did our best, but we couldn’t finish either of them.
We wanted to finish every last delicious bite, but, in the end, it was just too much food.
They are definitely enough for two people to share.

Ā Kerry Park @ Queen Anne Hill
After breakfast we walked back to the hotel and got the car.
Our first stop was at Kerry Park in Queen Anne Hill.
The park has great views of the city!
I wish it hadn’t been so cloudy!!! Maybe next time.
A little bit of trivia – Frasier’s apartment was in this neighborhood. Neat!
If you are in Seattle, Kerry Park is a must!

The Space Needle
I think it is a requirement to go to the Space Needle every time you are in Seattle.
You can buy tickets ahead of time and schedule your visit.
We did not do this. Fortunately, we were able to buy tickets at the kiosk and walk right up.
The views are great from the top of the Space Needle.
I took photos from every direction.
Again, I wish it hadn’t been so cloudy!! BUT I think this is normal for Seattle.
Next time we visit, I want to come back at night.

Ā Chihuly Garden & Glass
After our visit to the Space Needle we walked over to the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit.
It was the most amazing exhibit I’ve ever been to.
I took SO many pictures! I could have stayed here all day looking at the amazing art!
I have this photo hanging on a canvas in our house. LOVE!!!

When we drove up to the Space Needle park, I noticed that the EMP Museum was having a Nirvana exhibit. I LOVE Nirvana, so we had to walk over and check it out.
Sweater, guitar, album and MTV Award from Smells Like Teen Spirit.
In Utero Angels
More Nirvana guitars.
This was SOOOOOO cool to me.
I grew up with Nirvana and it was so awesome to see all the memorabilia.
There were other exhibits in the museum.
Here are the Hover Boards from Back to the Future 2.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Back to the Future!
Gizmo!!!
Jason’s mask and knife!
The EMP Museum was great. SO much fun memorabilia.
I could have stayed here for hours and hours.
We will definitely go back!

Ā 5 Spot
After spending half a day at the Space Needle Park, we headed back to Queen Anne Hill for lunch.
My Dad recommend that we go to 5 Spot. My parents ate there on their last trip and really enjoyed it.
The menu at 5 Spot changes every few months to focus on a new region of the US.
They were focusing on Charleston when we went.
5 Spot is an upscale diner with eclectic decor.
Chicken Legs got the Fish & Chips.
I got a burger – you can’t go wrong with a diner burger!
We decided to try a milkshake.
We split one and it came out in two giant mugs.
SO good!!!

Kurt Cobain’s House
After lunch we had some time to kill, so we drove over to see Kurt Cobain’s old house.
Houseboats on Lake Union
Next we drove over to see all the houseboats.
Most of the docks were locked, so we couldn’t really walk around much.
I wish I had researched where the Sleepless in Seattle houseboat was!
Wonder if it is on AirBnB?!?!?

Radiator Whiskey
We finally headed back to the hotel for a break.
The valet told us about one of his favorite places for a drink.
It was a few blocks away in Pike Place Market.
We decided to check it out.
Radiator Whiskey is located a block up from the famous market sign.
It is tucked away on the second floor of the building.
Look at all the whiskey!
I see Corsair Whiskey from Nashville on the shelf!
I got a Phil Collins – buffalo trace bourbon, lemon, soda, house grenadine. SOOO good!
The valet told Chicken Legs to get the High West Bourye – he loved it!
We sat at the bar and had the perfect view of the tiny kitchen.
They were turning out these Tater Tots left and right.
We broke down and got some.
O-M-G! Tater tots topped with homemade gravy and a fried egg.
HEAVEN!
Perfect ending to our trip!!

What kind of camera did you use? Your pictures are amazing.
I use the Sony RX100Ā https://amzn.to/2ApaGkV
This looks so fun, lots of good places to go! I'm excited for some of these views
Worth noting – if you go to Chihuly, buy the day and night pass – the museum is totally different at night when everything is lit vs. the day
You accomplished a lot. Pictures look amazing
I can't wait to use this as a reference for my much anticipated Seattle visit
I think y'all ate more in 2 days than I eat in a week, ha! This post makes me want to travel MORE!

Your in Seattle and you never went down to the Ballard Locks and hit some of the FANTASTIC SEA FOOD RESTAURANTS????? The whole Seattle Area is loaded with Sea Food, it's right on the Puget sound.
We live in Eastern WA and your blog makes me want to go to Seattle and do battle with the traffic š
Really enjoyed reading about your trip to Seattle. I would love to go! The Chihuly glass looks fascinating!
