Where to Eat in New York City - our favorite places to eat in the city. The Burger Joint, Patsy's Italian Restaurant, Uncle Jacks, Eataly and Da Marino. Lots of hidden gems that you don't want to miss on your next trip to the city! #travel #NYC #newyorkcity

Today I am sharing everywhere we ate on our trip to New York City last month. We went up to see the Downton Abbey Exhibit, and it was everything I hoped it would be. If you have a chance to check it out you really should! As a Downton Abbey fan, I loved it!!

Since New York is full of amazing restaurants, we also took the opportunity to eat our way around the city. Well, we actually mainly just stayed in Midtown and enjoyed some of our favorite places and checked out a couple of new spots too. We even found an unexpected new favorite restaurant! You’ll never believe where it is!

The Burger Joint
One of the best kept secrets in NYC is The Burger Joint inside the swanky Le Parker Meridien hotel.
This place is truly a joint. Few places to sit and writing all over the walls.
They only started taking credit cards in the past few years.
It is burgers and fries. That’s really it.

The burgers are sersioulsy delicious! They are also seriously affordable! Especially for NYC.
We each got a cheeseburger and fries. It is THE BEST way to kick off a visit to NYC!!!

Patsy’s Italian Restaurant
Patsy’s has long been our favorite Italian place in NYC. If it was good enough for Frank Sinatra, it is good enough for us!
We ate at Patsy’s on our first night in town.
We started with the fried mozzarella. Seriously delicious!

Chicken Legs got the Veal Chop that was topped with prosciutto and mushrooms.
He ate every last bite!

His veal chop came with a side of pasta. So simple and so delicious!

I ordered the Pork Rollatine –
Bacon-wrapped pork scaloppine stuffed with mozzarella and prosciutto – roasted and finished in a reduction of pan juices and white wine

I wanted to lick the plate!

We couldn’t pass up the dessert cart!
We got a slice of cannoli cake

and a slice of the Neapolitan – my favorite!

Eataly
We LOVED Eataly when we were in Chicago, so we were SUPER excited to check out the NYC locaiton. We went to the NYC Flatiron location.
We started with some fun cocktails!

We shared an order of prosciutto and mozzarella.
SO stinking good!

Next up was the Margherita Pizza – heaven!

Finally, we shared an order of Cacio e Pepe
Spaghetti with black pepper, Parmigiano Reggiano, Pecorino Romano dop and butter
We wanted to lick the bowl! Seriously the best pasta we’ve ever eaten!

Uncle Jack’s
We stopped in at Uncle Jack’s for a drink and ended up staying for dinner.
We sat at the bar and just enjoyed a laid back and delicious meal before going to Sinatra Night at The Carnegie Club.
We started with an order of the Thick Cut Maple Glazed Bacon.
O-M-G!

Chicken Legs got a Caesar Salad – it was delicious!

For his entree, he got a big fat filet – medium-rare.
YUM!

We shared an order of the Pepper Jack Creamed Corn.

I got the French Dip. It was great! LOVED the smoked gouda on top.

My sandwich came with an order of fries. I just love skinny fries like this!

Da Marino
We saved the best for last on this trip to NYC.
Da Marino is our new favorite place in NYC. I want to go back to NYC just to eat here!
Da Marino is in the basement of a building in the theater district.
It is actually right next door to The Book of Mormon (fantastic show BTW).
The inside is decorated with murals of Italy and Christmas lights.
They have a piano player playing music and we even had a fun sing-along!

We started with the Beef Carpaccio.
I am really picky about beef carpaccio and this was perfection!

Chicken Legs got the Veal Marsala.

He said it was delicious. I’m not a mushroom fan, so I didn’t try it.

The side of pasta that came with the veal was heaven!

I ordered the Penne a la Vodka with Chicken.
I want to fly to NYC right now and have this for dinner.
Hands down the best vodka sauce I’ve ever eaten.
We both agreed that Da Marino is our new go-to place in NYC.
Such a fun, relaxed evening.
The food was excellent and the service was spot on.
Add this place to your list!
