Southwestern Bean Dip recipe - creamy Mexican bean dip with a kick. Starts with canned bean dip. Add cream cheese, sour cream, taco seasoning, hot sauce and cheese. This dip requires minimal effort and packs tons of great taste! This is always one of the first things to go at our parties! A must for taco night or your next party!
1Tbsphot sauce,use more or less as your preference
1(4-oz)can diced green chiles
2cupsshredded cheddar-jack cheese
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Lightly spray an 8x8 or 11x7-inch pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
Combine bean dip, cream cheese, sour cream, taco seasoning, hot sauce, and green chiles. Stir in half of the cheese.
Spread bean dip in baking dish. Top with remaining cheese.
Bake, uncovered, for 25 to 30 minutes, until bubbly.
Notes:
I use Frito bean dip. You can find it in the chip aisle at the grocery store.
For best results, use room temperature cream cheese. If you are short on time, you can microwave the cream cheese for a few seconds.
Can use any cheese that you enjoy. Cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack, Pepper Jack, or a Mexican cheese blend are all delicious.
You can use low-fat sour cream and cream cheese to lower the calories.

Is Southwestern Bean Dip spicy? No. This dip is not spicy. If you want a spicy dip, substitute a can of diced jalapenos for the green chiles.
Can Southwestern Bean Dip be made in advance? Yes! You can assemble the dip and bake it the next day.
This dip can be made in the oven, slow cooker, or in the microwave.
