Beer Cornbread Recipe – great tasting cornbread made with beer! Super easy to make and even easier to eat!! All-purpose flour, self-rising cornmeal, baking powder, honey, beer, and butter. Ready to eat in under an hour. A great bread to serve with soup, chili, casseroles, and more!
Pre-heat oven to 350ºF. Lightly grease a 9-inch loaf pan.
Mix together all ingredients just until combined. Pour into loaf pan. Top with melted butter.
Bake 45-55 minutes, until golden brown.
Notes:
You can use any type of beer. I suggest using a light beer or pale ale so it doesn’t overpower the flavors in the bread. Just use your favorite beer and you will be fine.
Does the bread taste like beer? I couldn’t taste the beer once the bread was cooked.
For best results, use room temperature beer.
You can use salted or unsalted butter.
I use White Lily Buttermilk White Cornmeal Mix.
Don't have a loaf pan? You can bake the bread in a 10-inch cast-iron skillet.
What can I add to the cornbread?
corn kernels
sharp cheddar cheese
chopped jalapeno peppers
3 or 4 slices thick-cut bacon
Can Beer Bread be frozen? Yes. Bake the bread and cool completely. Wrap the bread in plastic wrap and place it in a freezer bag and freeze. When ready to serve, thaw and enjoy.
