Chicken Parmesan Bubble Up Recipe – this easy casserole is seriously delicious!! Only 5 ingredients – Chicken, spaghetti sauce, mozzarella cheese, and parmesan cheese tossed with refrigerated biscuits! YUM! Ready in 30 minutes! Great meal for busy weeknights that is sure to please the whole family!
2(6-oz)cans refrigerated biscuits(10 total biscuits)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375ºF. Lightly grease a 9x13x2-inch pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
Cut biscuits into quarters. Place in medium bowl. Toss biscuits with spaghetti sauce, chicken and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Pour mixture into prepared 9x13-inch pan. Top with remaining cheese.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until biscuits are done.
Notes:
You can use frozen popcorn chicken or frozen breaded chicken breasts.
If using frozen breaded chicken breasts, cut them into bite-sized pieces.
There is no need to cook the chicken ahead of time. Frozen breaded chicken is already cooked. It will reheat while the casserole bakes.
I use two cans of the smaller 5-count (6-oz) can of biscuits. I did NOT use the bigger Grands! biscuits.
Make sure to spread the biscuits around in the pan so they aren’t all clumped together. This will ensure the biscuits bake and aren’t doughy when you pull it out of the oven.
My favorite store-bought marinara sauce is Trader Joe’s Roasted Garlic Marinara (green label), Rao’s, Carbone, and La Famiglia DelGrosso.
Add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a little kick.
I like to add some garlic powder and a little Italian seasoning to the biscuit mixture for extra flavor.
Feel free to add some spinach to the casserole.
