Mississippi Sin Hash Brown Patty Breakfast Casserole Recipe – super simple to make and tastes great! Frozen hash brown patties, ham, cheese, eggs, milk, cream cheese, sour cream, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, green onions, and garlic powder. Can make in advance and refrigerate or freeze for later. Perfect for hectic weekday mornings, lazy weekends, and a holiday breakfast.
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Lightly spray a 9x13x2 pan with cooking spray.
In a large skillet, cook diced ham over medium-high heat until all of the liquid has been released. Drain liquid.
Place hash brown patties in the bottom of the prepared pan.
Sprinkle diced ham, green onions, and shredded cheeses over potatoes.
Whisk together cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add eggs and milk and whisk until well blended. Pour over the ham and cheese.
Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until the center is set.
Notes:
There is no need to thaw or pre-cook the hash brown potato patties before adding them to the pan.
You can use any cheese that you enjoy. I use sharp cheddar cheese. Colby-Jack, Monterey Jack, pepper jack, and gouda all taste great.
It is OK to have a few tiny clumps of cream cheese in the egg mixture.
Do I have to cook the ham in a skillet? I find that packaged diced ham has a lot of water in it. I like to cook the liquid out of the ham before adding it to the pan. You can skip this step if you prefer.
